Yet Another Site that Rates HS MN Hockey Teams!

Sorry for the self promotion, but I gotta get my hockey ratings site out there somehow. I may be a bit premature in posting and opening this up to everyone, so be aware that my whole project still a work in progress. But hopefully there's some good stuff that you'll enjoy, or maybe want to argue to ...

 So does that mean his "Dark Horse" claim already flopped?! I mean, there hasn't been a game yet even. Tough pills!

New Teams/Folded Teams/Team Changes

Are there any new teams this year?
What conference/section are they in?
Are any teams gone that were around last year?
Are there any teams changing conferences/sections?

I appreciate the work grandmeadowhockeyfan. This could trigger some good discussion. I understand that of the 4 or so variables you used, they had to come out in some sort order. You said GA from last year was the best of the 4, but did you get a R^2 value or anything? I'm going to assume they weren...

Good work. I am doing some of my own ratings and wanted to see if anything out there has been done about home ice advantage so that I don't have to go digging and crunching myself. Thank you.

karl, where do you get your data/scores from? And maybe I'd be the only one, what are chances you indicate home/away team on your site this year when you input scores? :D

Home Ice Advantage

How much is it for MN Boys High School hockey? It's prominent in almost every sport at almost every level. Does anyone have the data on this or perhaps a site that shows scores along with location of the games? (Other than MN Hub)

Ratings/Rankings success

Has anyone checked to see how successful any ranking system did during the section seedings? PageStat2, StarTrib, Mitch Hawker, ...

Or should we divvy the work?

I like St. Pierre. Can't beat a six game win streak. Three of them were title defending bouts. 19-2 overall. Loved UFC 94 vs Penn.

Though it is not numbers based, (at least that I'm aware of) it is more of a team A beat team B so A > B. Though, when B beats C and C beats A I think he bases it mostly on who won most recently.

Which is better? http://www.minnhock.com/pagestat.htm http://www.ushsho.com/mnrank.htm Are there any more numbers-based ratings out there? I suppose it wouldn't be super difficult for someone to calculate RPI for all the teams. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ratings_Percentage_Index I'm still trying t...

Gophs lose,

TWINS WIN! (and if you didn't cry at the post game ceremony you have no heart. Touch 'em all Kirby Puckett ...)

And we can add Twins again to Tuesday night's docket. Kind of a disappointing game 1 for the Wild eh?

GopherWild, I believe the rule deals with the year of birth. For this legion season, anyone born in 1989 or later were eligible. If the players you named were born in 1990 (or later), then they would be able to play next year. That way, only about half of college freshmen who want to play legion are...
