========== AA Bracket Round 1 ========== Brainerd vs Fargo South I don't think South is that strong this year, but I think looking at a small recap of Brainerd that they can pull through over them in the first round. However, South has no depth to them and their only defense is their goaltender (who...

Re: Brainerd vs. Fargo South

Who do you have for this game and your thoughts on the game? Fargo South by a couple goals. Fargo South seems to be on a good year, Brainerd does not. These two teams likely have players who have played eachother before so it could be an entertaining contest. I just want to point out, this is not t...

I think the ridiculous hype given Edina was a problem. If they play Moorhead 10 times, they probably win 8. But any one game can be won by the underdog. Look at the MN Wild. They just beat San Jose. There is even more of a talent discrepancy with the Wild and Sharks. Hockey is about the only sport ...

Ok, I just watched it again on super slow motion, and I was wrong, he was offsides. It doesn't matter though, because it still wasn't a reviewable play. First, quite happy CDH lost so we could have tonight's game. Second, he was NOT offsides. http://www.mnhockeyhub.com/attachments/photo/0179/5236/N...

The angle they were showing on TV (which was from behind him to his right) showed that he was very offsides and pulled the puck in behind him. However, it wasn't very easy to see the blue line from the angle, but it looked offsides. However, that was a very, very nice goal and don't think him having...

...Because the people that want to watch the Wild go to their games, the ones that want to watch the Timberwolves don't want it bad enough to pay for the tickets, so they watch it on TV.

Yeah Cretin's gonna have a field day with that one.

As for the game, I'd really like Moorhead to pull off the Cinderella story, but don't see it happening after watching them tonight.

4-2 EP.

Anybody notice how far offsides Moorhead was before they made that second goal? Apparently missed my post, haha. The announcers didn't even mention it, but I'm assuming they didn't want to bring attention to a big referee mistake. But you can't ask much from a guy who pronounces Moorhead Moo-er-head

The TV was too busy doing replays of the goal (which they did like 4 or 5 times). They were simply behind, assuming Moorhead just shot it in on net and Cretin's goalie froze it. Before anyone comes on here and complains about it, I'm rooting for Moorhead, and I'll admit that 2nd goal was offside. Re...

I think Edina took them lightly, but you can't discredit Moorheads play at all. They've toughed it out this season, even through the tough times.

Maybe with 4 referees you'll be able to avoid something like this in your state title game.

I'd say Spuds, but they're likely going to either get pummeled by a far superior Edina team, or the 'Edina' team will show up and Moorhead will pull off an upset versus a cold team. If Edina wins this game, I expect them to take the tournament.

Either way, I think the flamboyant orange is gross anyways.

Thanks for the input, and I agree with the basically unanimous posts saying that it's better to play in a packed smaller arena than a huge half empty one. It makes you feel so much more into the game when all you see is people rather than empty seats.

Big Arena versus Packed Atmosphere

You guys looked like you needed more topics to discuss. :) Arising from a topic on another forum ( here , topic starts up around 1/2 the way down), I was wondering how you guys view a tournament. Would you rather have a large, incredible rink (Like the XCel) with a half-capacity crowd or a sold out ...

I don't think you can really bet against Jefferson's record, but it is pretty obvious they play an easier schedule than most as well. I expect it to be close, but Moorhead won't be able to pull it off imo. However, if Moorhead comes out flying and catches Jefferson off guard, anything can happen. I ...

This is the same team that is .500 overall and has already lost to Burnsville 6-3, Bloomington 6-1, Chaska 5-1, Fargo South 5-1 and EP 5-0.
I just don't see it happening at all against a higher level team, but I've been wrong before.
East by 3 goals, because they're a defensive team.

Will Fargo add a youth program too? I would assume they'd want to have one to feed Davies high school. I don't believe so. It'd probably require a lot of money to fund yet another youth program in Fargo, so I think it's just the Flyers program being the feeder for both teams. However, I haven't eve...

Honestly, i'm a little surprised that Fargo teams haven't strung a few championships together at all really. I fill in the box labeled "Other" and write in "Alexander Ovechkin". At least that way the kids will be learning some incredibly skilled stick handling moves for the highlight tapes.
