Yes, just an unfortunate, unexpected, and arguably embarrassing loss, much like WBL's own loss to Stillwater from just a few days ago. Not an occasion to question where it falls in H-M's history or where it leaves the program. Just an off night for a really good team.

Couldn't agree with you more on Shawn Roed. One of the best youth hockey players I have ever seen. Had he not had academic problems at the U I truly believe he would have been one of best to play there in last 20 years. Unreal skill level. Mahtomedi Youth Hockey Association's area is the same as the Mahtomedi school district's area. Same in White Bear Lake.

Do Mahtomedi and White Bear Lake High Schools send thank you notes to those hockey associations ? Perhaps only if Hill-Murray (or STA, or Benilde, etc.) came calling and the player decided to play high school hockey in his home area, with his youth hockey teammates, where he learned to play hockey,...
