You lose three games all regular season and the season is a "colossal failure" because you didn't make it to state? Wow.

They had the fewest losses (3) in all of AA and hadn't lost in nearly two months coming into the section final. And they were ranked #3 in all of the recent polls. That's not a great team?

Lets be honest about things, Lex basically coaches a metro all-star team. If you look at his line-up every year, he is basically coaching some of, if not the best kids from numerous youth associations from the metro/WI area. You're basically right, and this is basically what's wrong with high schoo...

Yes, just an unfortunate, unexpected, and arguably embarrassing loss, much like WBL's own loss to Stillwater from just a few days ago. Not an occasion to question where it falls in H-M's history or where it leaves the program. Just an off night for a really good team.

Couldn't agree with you more on Shawn Roed. One of the best youth hockey players I have ever seen. Had he not had academic problems at the U I truly believe he would have been one of best to play there in last 20 years. Unreal skill level. Never heard of Roed, so I looked him up on hockeydb.com and...

For White Bear...ouch. The talent was there, but so were the warning signs all along. This one is in a different category from a lot of their recent losses, but I'll defer to the White Bear Faithful on where this one falls in WBL history, and where this leaves the program. How does this qualify as ...

Hmmm. Ranked #3. Best record in the state. Only 3 losses all season and only one loss in the last two months. Do yah think, Capt. Obvious?

Obviously this does not excuse the removal of the silver medals, but it is in fact what happened. Yes, especially after several players did the same thing in last year's section final loss. One would think the "best coach in the state" (as several on this board have suggesed Lechner is) w...

Obviously you haven't read through to understand what actually happened. They were planning on letting Duke Peiper have the first chance to hold the trophy, it had no reflection to how they felt about 2nd, as they would have given Duke the trophy right away either way. Is there a source for this ot...

I enjoyed Aus spending 30 seconds bitching to the ref after the initial penalty rather than getting his team ready for the penalty kill. Nothing like getting your kids in the mind set that they're getting screwed by the refs rather than getting them to compete. Also enjoyed him and his staff raisin...

Tim Sager is no "great coach," Gump. This guy has single-handedly brought down the WBL hockey program, and that's a fact. Most alumni hate him and his "coaching," future players are repelled to play for him because he's a dope, and he says to the media/public that his team is on...

I will NEVER support WBL hockey again until Bozo gets run out of town. He absolutely is inadequate as a leader, and as I said last year, they won because of Brandon Wahlin, Max Birkinbine and Mac Jansen. He has got to go. PERIOD. Let's not get ahead of ourselves. One loss, even a bad, unexpected, e...

That's sort of obvious in the case of most suburban hockey assocations, isn't it?

Mahtomedi Youth Hockey Association's area is the same as the Mahtomedi school district's area. Same in White Bear Lake.

Re: WBL - HM

Do Mahtomedi and White Bear Lake High Schools send thank you notes to those hockey associations ? Perhaps only if Hill-Murray (or STA, or Benilde, etc.) came calling and the player decided to play high school hockey in his home area, with his youth hockey teammates, where he learned to play hockey,...
