Re: Roseville Coach
Jeff Pauletti is his name. He is a good guy and a pretty good coach. Played at the U of M and was an Edmonton Oilers pick in the 11th round. He is a very good hockey guy, but there is some transition between the previous coach (Jim Young) and Coach Pauletti. Pauletti is a better coach than Young no ...

Best Arena
I think roseville is right up with aldrich or richfield. If roseville had better rink boards it may be even better. The coliseum has my vote for worst place for hs hockey. Too bad so many sections finals are played at that place.

Roseville and Roch. Mayo tied at 4 going to OT. Roseville is more or less dominating but their goaltending is brutal

Pre Season Top 5
These Centennial and WBL groups finished 1 and 2 as Bantams. Each one a state title and finished runner up between the MN Hockey and VFW tourneys. I can't remember which team won which tourney. Too bad only one can win the section. AHA should be in the top 5 as well. It will be usual group of teams ...

I am not so surprised by the timing. With Bob Motzko going up there earlier in the year, this is the best way to make sure he gets the job. No time for a search committee. I think this has been in the works since the end of last season.

Cliff77, I am not sure how I should word that statement. If I would have said "recruiting", you would have blown up, if I would have said "using", you would mistaken the meaning of that too. So, let me try this again. Private schools have players who grew up playing in a local yo...

Puckguy
Puckguy, lets just say I work "very closely' with referees all season long and some guys love the 5 second rule because it keeps a good game flowing, but a lot of guys hate it for various reasons. I guess you are the expert since you are a referee? Personally, I think the 5 second rule is a goo...

I apologize if my information is bad. I am just working off the information from the Star Tribune article from a while back. Recruiting
It seems like this topic strikes a nerve with those programs "always accused" of recruiting. Most of the time there is no basis to the allegations. However, Mr. Trebil was censured by the MSHSL and fined $500 for recruiting a few years back so I don't think you can say these allegations ar...

5 second rule
The 5 second rule is good for the game. Lets keep it moving. I think everyone likes it excpet the refs. This warmup is pointless. Anyone with some knowledge of physiology knows that a one minute warmup is not enough. Add this to a list of stupid things the MSHSL has done. It is not as great as their...

This is a dumb idea that is replacing a dumber idea. Making players go straight to the bench was stupid to begin with. However, we all know that one minute will turn in to three minutes by the time everything gets organized and everyone does their rah rah cheer. If you sit in the locker room for 15 ...

MV Hockey
I agree with the fact that the AD and principal need to do their job, BUT they need the support of the school board too. At MV it seems that if parents don't get the right answer at the AD or principal level, they just keep going until someone validates their complaint. It is sad but true. If you wa...

This whole thing has taken on a life of its own. Schloppy, you need to jump behind the bench for awhile to get a true perspective on this. Opinions are like butt holes, everyone has one. This is particularly true when it comes to measuring ability in athletics. When I played this game, I questioned ...

Schloppy great use of the first rate MV education. Maybe your English teacher should lined up and run out for not teaching you how to spell like Nitti was for not making you a scholarship hockey player. That will never happen, teachers have unions and contracts so the standard is higher for coaches ...
