Brumm, Heid, Mickelson, and Darion Hanson are all on the Omaha AAA U16 roster . Dylan Michaud is on the U18 roster . All are playing at the super rink in Blaine today. These boys would have had plenty of Hockey with HP, Summer teams, Elite League and their high school teams. The skaters in this gro...

Re: Save your money
Save your money. FHIT is a damn joke. The coaches are jokers too. Lots of flash and no substance. Blah blah blah My kid skates at FHIT. He loves it. He can skate and workout everyday. its similar to a club membership for hockey players. He is in the "upper level" groups and skated against...

High School hockey is really falling off the map is it not? It seems to get worse every year. Ten high schoolers is not good. I would put your count down to two or three HS players as most left early for opportunities elsewhere. Some after their sophomore year and the Shattuck guys never having pla...

why are these players at a USA Hockey National Camp? Regardless of where they play they are considered among the best American players at their age. So they skip the tryouts? Seriously, they are automatically better because of where they play? I think we have plenty of MN kids who are playing HS ho...

It's all about who you know! My point is its funny how adults do it in the job world, but then adults cry about it when the process is similar to picking kids for the advanced teams. This is true, but when you have your tryouts, get cut, and then someone who never attended tryouts ends up at the Na...

HP 17
1. Saw some debate regarding Canadian MJ kids and the USA Hockey Selects process and just pointed out the player on last years "tournament" roster and his circumstances. He is now 18 and will be a likely 1st round pick this spring. Did he take a MN kids spot? We will never know, but he too...

Re: HP 17 Rosters
What is the process to make the European team in terms of tryouts ? May be apples to oranges vs. Minnesota hs process. In terms of MSHSL not requiring membership in USA hockey to participate, doesn't a kid have to register, at some point, with USA hockey to attend ? Kids get to the final 54 weekend...

HP 17 Rosters
Same stuff every year..... Last year, a player from out east, who played Canadian MJ, and gave up a scholarship, obviously, was picked for the European team, and played. Did he go thru the tryout process? No. You WILL see kids make the trip to NY and possibly to the World tournament team who will be...

Private School trash talk
Want to get rid of the private school hockey tournament domination? If there were, say, 4 metro Tier 1 AAA hockey teams, the private school recruiting/domination and all complaining would stop. Why, because Johnny Superstar would attend his own local high school and play his hockey for whatever Tier...

I didn't like them. Seems like either jump up on the glass, or ride on your knee accross the ice pointing at the scorebored like you just counquered a new country after 190 days at sea. Ridiculous, but after hearing the commentators refer to half the kids in the tournament like they should be on the...

Re: Class A competition
Something is not right. There's nothing but apathy and empty seats at the A games. Fans possibly not interested in these 494 ring privates dominating the outstate small public teams. I'm not saying there's not great outstate teams, just not enough of them to ensure 4 good tournament pairings. Kind ...

Major jrs. vs MNHSL
A few things; Did BSM dicipline the two kids who went to the NTDP last year when they visited, had tryouts, or missed any school? There is a pretty extensive process which had to have taken some time away from the team. Also, the team knew they were leaving so did they sit the bench the rest of the ...

So that sweet 90 day season that most of the state just completed along with those well scouted super competitive 24 games wasn't enough to get them to the "show"?

Zam, is it really about the politically correct name thing, or are you still mad that the one of the best teams in state history (Stars 2006) were outcoached and beaten by Burnsville in one of the biggest upsets in recent state history. I love ya Zam, but, just askin'.

SSM vs BSM
I stand corrected and was totally off on this one. BSM seemed to do whatever they could to keep their top guys out there so did not see the rolling of the 4 BSM lines, but it sure worked for them. BSM goalie was very good. I was just not that impressed with SSM, but a good BSM team made them look Un...

BSM vs SSM
SSM has 4 solid lines 6 capable (can move the puck out, hit people, and cover someone) D and two very good goalies. Sorry guys, but BSM does not have anything near that. Watch what BSM does tonight with their short bench, and then ask yourself if they could do that for 3 nights in a row. This will b...

NAHL in MN
I think it's great that someone will take the risk and try to bring upper level Jr. hockey to the Twin cities one more time. The economic model for the USHL is working, I think, because in most of their locations, the hockey team is one of the only "shows" in town. Not much to do in Kearne...

Re: 12/16 rankings
#6 BSM beats #20 AHA in a 11-1 disaster, how can that team be ranked at all? Not saying much for MSHSL hockey if this is true. Can someone get beat like that and be ranked? seriously? I was thinking the same thing. Also surprised Cloquet is ranked. They haven't beaten anybody above them, and have l...

Re: another?
Hurley next? That's the buzz. You don't pick a player in the regular draft 3rd overall if that player does not intend on joining the team this year, IMO. I guess they could protect him for another year but I just think you pick a player that early who will likely contribute right away and take a &q...

congrats to all question: If not drafted what is the realistic chance on making a team if you are invited to their main/trout camp. I would expect very remote and for the cost of camp, lodging, etc. is it really worth it? I would think this would cost 1K by the time you are done. I know 2 guys who ...
