Re: Cambridge
Steal a game, perhaps... but ONLY if their top line scores more than one goal. Goldsmith can't score the goals for these guys too. <p></p><i></i>

Re: Cambridge
Cambridge does have a very solid goalie in Goldsmith. But the thing about hockey success is that it has to be a "team" effort. The only way Cambridge will be able to knock off someone in the playoffs is if they actually get some good playing from some of their other players at BOTH ends of...

Re: Re:Brainerd/CEC
GR19, I haven't seen CEC play yet this year but previous posters throughout various threads on this board indicated CEC is playing with a weaker defense this year as compared to years past. Perhaps they have stepped it up, I don't know.<br>But I will repeat that defensively Brainerd is very good.......

Re: Re:Brainerd/CEC
Their coach mixes it up...the Finlander has been out on different lines and has impacted most of the time. But I would agree (if that is what you were implying) that Brainerd is stronger defensively, and probably stronger defensively than Cloquet. Cloquet may be stronger offensively than Brainerd. W...

Re:Brainerd/CEC
I think it will be a tight game and anybody's game. If both goaltenders are on (yes, Mr. Ellingson has off nights too), it will be close. If Cloquet is off their game at all, Brainerd will take them. Defensively Brainerd is very strong, and they have fire power at the other end of things too. They s...

Classy response dude. Take it down a notch....people who actually enjoy discussing hockey want to keep this thread alive....if you keep up the trash talk, Lee will lock it up....get a grip. <p></p><i></i>

Re: Granite City Classic Semifinal Scores: SR 2 - Sartell 1
As to the SR/Sartell game, I would agree that it was a clean game but would disagree that SR played "down". SR is a very good offensive team and got 40 plus shots to the net. They maybe looked to you STCplaya that they were playing down but I think it was that they weren't playing goon hoc...

Re: REFS
I was at the Sartell/SR game and there was a whistle blown when Sartell pulled their goalie to get a 6th man out at the very end of the game to tie it up. Ref blew the whistle ready to call too many men on the ice and then realized what Sartell was doing. Sartell was already in SR's end making a run...

Re: Granite City Classic
Hmmm....Tech beats SCC pretty big....anybody see the St. Cloud Times yet? Tech's goaltender Flanagan states:<br>"It feels great just to blow them out. They shouldn't be on the same ice as us." <br><br>Good grief....with a program like Tech, you would think the coaches would "coach&quo...

Re: Smith
My point, Finn, is that there is more to blame than goaltending. If the netminder hadn't been challenged before this game then his defense clearly hadn't been challenged either. The D gave it up two out of the three goals. Look, I am not a Keaton Smith fan by any stretch, but I do become weary of th...

Re: Smith
78% THIS game. Coming into this game he was at 97%. Everybody has a weak game now and then...give the kid a break. His defensemen hung him out to dry totally a couple of times...so why isn't anyone commenting about that? <p></p><i></i>

Re: elite-allstate-selects-team minnesota goalies
Wow....Stauber creates all the same kind of goalies, huh? I would largely disagree with that statement. He has some goalies who like to play the puck (So. St. Paul's Stalock) and then he has goalies who are more conservative; he has goalies who dominate with the butterfly and others who dominate hig...

Re: FSN
Solanum, I don't know alot about DE or Moorhead this year, but I did watch the game on FSN last night. You cannot blame this loss soley on Moorhead's goaltender. The first goal in was a miscommunication by the two defensemen in front of the net, two more were PP goals (and we all saw what Moorhead's...
