Re: A teams playing AA at youth levels

A metro schools designated as "Class A" by enrollment standards don't have the same access to bodies as those in AA just because of their proximity open enrollment or not. And Class A schools outside the metro can recruit with the best of them including Hermantown. This is a really piss-poor justifi...

Re: A teams playing AA at youth levels

Thank you again for providing me with a perfect example of my point. Even a place like Warroad, which has as good of a hockey culture and community support as you'll find anywhere, has just gone through a decade of relative mediocrity. They are proof that having an excellent program isn't enough fo...

Re: A teams playing AA at youth levels

To be fair, if EGF was in AA it is very likely their schedule would include more AA teams and less of the likes of Orono and Delano. The can’t control their conference schedule of course but in all likelihood they would have played a tougher non conference schedule, thereby improving their overall ...

Re: A teams playing AA at youth levels

EGF is a great example, I'm glad you picked them. I think they would make the transition to 8AA just fine. To wit, HS: Beat 8AA team Bemidji twice, then outclassed Roseau in a game where they outshot them 2:1, and gave #3 in AA Moorhead all they could handle in a good game 6-3 (en) in which the sho...

Re: A teams playing AA at youth levels

Not all AA teams have the same resources, yet they were all put in AA. How many discrimination lawsuits have you seen over it? Has Robbinsdale Armstrong or Coon Rapids filed suit because they don't have the resources of Wayzata or EP? When they first made the AA/A split, how thrilled were the teams...

Re: The forums favorite state champion and untold story’s from the morning after championship Saturday

I'd love to nominate Reggie Miracle's 1983 Columbia Heights team that sadly came up short. What a story that could have been. Loved the 1977 RJM team that beat an undefeated Edina East. 2007 Roseau. Perhaps the greatest team to win it all, 1993 Jefferson. Too bad Tonka couldn't match them in 2010. :(

Re: One Change to the Playoffs/State Tournament

I'd like to see a 16-team tournament that puts all teams into one class, or one that takes the section winner of every AA and A section and seeds 1-16. There will be some complaints for sure, but you don't hear a lot of that for instance with respect to NCAA football playoffs below DIv I, nor for NC...

With all of this hand wringing in regard to EP recruiting kids / transfers I wanted to get everyone's thoughts on Lakeville South. You have 3 kids leave Farmington who are currently on the LS Bantam AA and 1 other kid who is a 9th grader who left Farmington for LS varsity. You also have a kid who w...

Who's in running for winning it by the end of the year? I don't get to see most of these girls play, but names currently at/near the top for both SV% and GAA%:

Goehner
Bohner
Blair
Melancha
Dulac
Cassibo
Allen

Someone else?

Re: AA Rankings for 12/1/19

Minnetonka was if I remember right, but think they are complaining about those two teams. I wasn't complaining per se about Tonka - more having fun with the tumble despite playing Rosemount (#2) tough for 2.5 periods (while only going 1 for 6 on PP) and losing to GR (#8) in OT. Not to worry though ...

Regarding O-Town's site - wasn't it just a warehouse to centralize links to offered games produced elsewhere? Yes. I think I ended up providing links to between 700 and 800 games last winter. The concept is basically a channel guide so people can find what is on and how to watch. A lot of work I wo...

Do you know that a lot of Freshman at all privare schools are recruited? that is how their student body is made up.
Yes it happens and no should be naive to think it doesn't, but because of it privates should be forced into 1 section. Add Eden Prairie while you're at it.

Re: Games Saturday 11-23-19

Being able to watch the Rosemount-Tonka game online I think it was evident that Rosemount had a bit more depth, and that Tonka looked to me a bit discombobulated, especially on the PP. They have quite a bit of talent and their team speed generated plenty of PP opportunities, but at one point (I was ...
