Re: CONGRATS to O'Leary at Wayzata- Non-teacher Hockey Coach
Congrats to Pat O'Leary and his Trojans with their big Section win over BSM. Besides O'Leary and Janne Kivihalme at Burnsville, how many other Minnesota high school teams have non-teacher coaches? In this day and age, it would seem more specialized sports like hockey and lacrosse at this level shou...

HaHa. The kid hasn't hit the 30pt mark in hs hockey and you think he can be a high pick and play in the ushl? His family and others are talking about being a free agent rather than a 7th round pick. So for you guys that think this was a legit pick and not based on his name. Do you think the wild wo...

Last time I checked the Wild weren't the only club to not select Kloos. Reaily - what a concept. slapshot.... It would have been fine for the Wild to pass on both and go after size, but if your going to draft and the choice is between to prospects similiar in size.....go after the one that has a hi...

Re: Transfers next year
Has anyone heard of any players leaving current HS and transferring to new school for next year? I heard there are a couple high end private school players going to new private school next year. I do not want to mention names until I know for sure. Maybe someone going from Blake to Benilde? How man...

As I mentioned on Twitter, I don't see the need for any kid to give up his chances of getting a scholarship to a good NCAA school at such a young age. It is an absolute waste and unnecessary. 30% of the players that played in the NHL this season where from NCAA hockey. That number is increasing. It...

Re: Keegan Iverson?
He's no longer listed on the Portland roster, and is only listed as having played one game with them. Anybody know what's up? Is he hurt? 15 year olds (1996 bday) can only play a couple of games, i don't know the exact rule but basically they get a cup of coffee and then next year they can have 3 p...

Eric Hartzell from White Bear Lake has been the starter at Quinnipiac the past two seasons and presumably will be next year as he is only a junior and has played extremely well. He left after his junior year because he was behind Zach Faust on the WBL depth chart, then played three years of juniors...

Is Kristo really ready? I dont know much about him, but I dont see an electrifying type of player that you see in Zucker and JT Brown that just signed and will be debuting in the NHL this week. I know Kristo is good, but is he fast enough...strong enough...mature enough? I would think Brock is read...

Yes, Bjugstad did and is he or are the gophers better for it...thats the million dollar question. While his freshman year was good, he really didn't take off till after the world jrs. If he goes pro its one less year of strength and maturity the gophers get from him. Nick was a tweener (same as Nes...

My point exactly. Players like Rau, Bjugstad, Budish, stay in High School and come in with more success at the college level than a kid who played 2 years at ntdp. Goes to show you, don't be in too big of a rush to get out of High School, those years will never be given back to you. Bjugstad accele...

No doubt he's done everything thats been asked of him and has played a big role in this years success. I was getting at the issue of kids excelerating and my belief that it does very little to help either the team or the player. I think most of us would agree that excelerating didn't really do much...

yes he was but that doesn't change the fact that he's one of, if not the youngest, division 1 players in the country. Lets give the kid a chance to grow up. Playing against 18 and 19 year olds is different than playing against 22 or 23 year old men. You can't use that as an excuse at the division 1...
