Have to pull for EP as only public school and they're not HM.

Thank you so little.

Living in Tonka past 30 years so lake conference bias too.

Re: Lowest Seeds to Make it to State/Win State

I was also at that game. Leading 5-0 over Forest Lake, who'd they never had lost to and then having to go to double OT. The getting Park who was rated #1 for much of the year at 22-1 and then WBL who had Mr. Hockey and was also #1 most of the year. That was a hell of a section to win. I was at that...

Name one team with previously D1 committed kids who moved in from out of state for their junior and senior year. Take your time. Re: Breck

Was that supposed to be an argument against my point? I wasn’t saying they are the biggest, just that they are very big AND recruit nationally. Any number of the stronger programs in MN have players whose families move into that district from elsewhere as Edina in not unique in that regard as kids ...

Re: Breck

Yes, but the reason a private school should be AA in spite of being small is they recruit kids for their teams - punch way above their enrollment weight. If we are kicking Breck out of A, how about we kick Edina out of high school hockey and make them play Shattuck, since they are a huge school, re...

Well this game got interesting...

4-2 Minnetonka with 6 minutes left in 2nd.
Still 4-2 heading into the 3rd. Roseau needs their first line to stay fresh and score (twice!) if they're going to get back into it.
Tonka wins 7-2.

Re: Tournament programs sold out

Program sells out most years as many long time fans collect them and with majority of the tickets held by season ticket holders I suspect the plan is that by Fri nearly everyone has had a shot at buying one and why pay to staff sales on a day (Saturday) where very few will buy one?

Yes, we received an email today from EJ that both he and assistant Ogie are both resigning to spend more time with families as each has 3 boys in hockey.

Game, set, match out scored Blaine and out shot them by good margin so perhaps #3 seed wasn't mistake and coaches have bit of insight.

Re: 2019 STATE TOURNAMENT

Fun game to watch for this neutral fan. Tonka wins 7-4 with an empty netter at the end. The Crimson had a two man advantage with their goalie pulled at the end, when it was 6-4, and came very close several times to pull within one. But they panicked a little at the end, and a turnover gave Tonka th...

Crimson and Skippers tied at 1-1 after one. By far the most entertaining game of the tourney so far. Although Tonka had the edge in play, the Crimson are competitive and are playing good D, while remaining dangerous on the break. Very well played period by both teams.
Tonka wins 7-4

Looks like March 22nd will be the day the new sections are released. I’ve always thought Brainerd was better off in 7AA like they were back in the early-mid 2000s. Still don’t know how Andover and Elk are in conference with all the 5AA but no in their section.. Conferences are selected by the schoo...

Does anyone know if Andover and Minnetonka have to play both goalies during the game? If so, advantage Huskies! It's not required, but more of a gentleman's agreement between the coaches in HDM games that everyone gets to play. So much for “gentlemen’s agreement”. Hats off to Manney for getting bot...

Re: Games Thursday 1-17-19

4-0 Tonka over EP. Just looking at the box score that’s as classic a Minnetonka game as you’ll see. Teams stay with them through 2 and a half periods and then a quick couple goals and an empty netter later it looks like a blowout. However I thought this was still an uncharacteristicly sloppy game f...

Forecast low Friday now -19 and high Saturday -6 with 5 to 10 mph winds from north.

9:30am start has to be near -10 F or colder so any wind at all pushes this near -20 windchill which tells me this moves indoors.

Love to have this stay outdoors but MSHSL isn't going to risk safety.

Re: When will Minnetonka's first loss come?

Questions is, who will hold Tonka to 2 goals or less and then be able to put 3 or more on the board? Minnetonka is not a high scoring team but they are very skilled when they need to be as last 2 goals against BSM showed. The challenge is scoring on them which requires enough quality shots and from ...

Re: Games Wednesday & Thursday

BSM and Tonka are tied 1-1 after 1st period. Tonka scored on a PP to tie the game. Great start for BSM as they took a 1-0 lead in the first, but a late penalty cost them dearly as Tonka tied it in the waning seconds. The 2nd period was all Skippers as they had Benilde on their heels pretty much fro...
