Re: Minnesota Hockey Taking Over?

Well stated Old Man! I made a rare trip to Home Depot the other Day when I didn’t want to wait two days for replacement bad light fixture from Amazon. Watching the check out: people getting garden flowers and supplies, people getting interior paint for redecorating projects, etc. etc. In other word...

Re: MSHSL moves football to spring

The High School League will make community spread more likely if it restricts or cancels winter HS hockey (and basketball) and for that reason alone, it makes more sense to run the season as normal, with restrictions on attendance if needed. The players are safer if they remain with their teams. Th...

Re: Will there be high school hockey for 2020-2021?

Old Man (jury still out on wise), I am honestly and truly sorry for you. I'm sure you believe what you are saying. Therefore you must be very sad and scared for yourself, your loved ones, and the world. I see manipulated numbers. The deaths are full of "probable" and "died with". I saw the focus st...

Re: Will there be high school hockey for 2020-2021?

Agreed GR. I will add that if we are going to close schools and activities we at least have to be honest with ourselves about the reasons for doing it. We are 4 months in now and there hasn’t been a single school aged kid that has died in MN. Are we closing schools for their safety and out of their...

New scheduling for the SEC this year.) Saturday, Nov 21, 2020 7:00PM Centennial Vadnais Sports Center Friday, Nov 27, 2020 7:30PM Awa...

Watching him play with the puck as long as he did, it always amazed me why other teams didn't just forget about the puck and pummel him every chance they got. Will be interesting to see if his lack of size matters at the next level.

The Governator said Thursday he expected a return to mitigation measures this fall. People will have to weigh the risks a team from a minimally affected area, say Caledonia, playing a team from highly affected area, say Rochester Lourdes. Those Caledonia kids could take the virus back home and infe...

Including sections Lleyton Roed had a total of 52 points this season, if he doesn't come back the next highest point total returning would be Ethan Moerke who had a total of 14 points this year. Besides Roed and Moerke the Bears only return 3 players who scored a goal, Tyler Bishop is the only othe...

Dave Spehar against the Centennial team that didn't give up a goal throughout the whole tournament. Could he have scored against them?

1st thing they got to do is move the #4 vs #5 game to 6PM. It's usually the only good game on the first day and it should be when most people are watching on TV.

Not trying to be a homer, but did anyone else have a problem with the officiating? Pretty weak calls for WB and they missed a BLATANT too many men on the ice that lasted for about 15 seconds. That would have put WB 5 on 3, I just thought it was unbelievable they missed that, everyone was screaming ...

When AA teams stop playing A teams (or aren't allowed to plan A teams), this whole issue will be resolved.

Wait a minute...… Anoka has hockey? I remember when Anoka was the biggest school in the State. Then they split in two and Andover was born. If that split didn't happen they'd be pretty decent right now, eh? Your barking up the wrong tree with this comment. I grew up in Roseville (Ramsey / Kellogg).

Re: Section 4AA thread

Oh man there is no way the Coliseum is worthy of being a D1 arena. It only had two advantages over Aldrich. First & foremost was the capacity. Less importantly, the seats have backs. It's a dreary, poorly lit dump. It was the Metrodome of HS hockey. Improving it is like putting lip stick on a pig. ...

Sorry if this had already been covered- Is this the first playoff game Flake has hosted? They also hosted last season, but got "upset" by Elk River. To Forest Lake's credit, they brought a very good crowd; you could tell one side of the arena was excited to be in this game, and the other was just s...
