There are a number of coaches who think working on a "break-out" is working on defense. as the coach matures and developes they begin to understand that when your team has the "puck" in the defensive zone you are know technically on offense. Many Younger levels do not emphasise a...

This is an area Coaches truely need to know more about. Amazing how many do not know the Rules, penalties, so on and so forth. The Rules and the way penalties are called have changed so much over the years. If an official called penalties 100% by the BOOK there would be SO many penalties coaches and...

This all comes back to education, teaching. Not many PW or Bantam coaches even consider teaching how to give and recieve a check. How many Truely Know the Rules of the game? Due to the standards of play and the increase awareness of body contact injuries, the game is not the same as it was when most...

It is more about getting mentally prepared for a game. When you are getting dressed in your shirt and tie before you leave for the game, it is time to reflect and get prepared for the task at hand. I think of it as getting ready to go to the office, cause there is a job to do!! Get Real  That...

Hello, You do not need to register for USA Hockey. MN High SChool Hockey is not affiliated with all with USA Hockey. If your son were to skate at any select camps, or tryout for any JR team (Futures camp etc) then Yes he would need to go on line to register and pay the $40.00. Good Luck to your son ...

The big question is Can the Coach run the clinic with out getting any preconceived notion about the players in attendance? A player should not gain an advantage or be hurt because they attended the pre-tryout clinic. Only way to not create that perseption is to have someone else run the clinics and ...
