I do not remember how Pete voted on the allowing automatic school waivers.
I know I voted against it - Pete may have also.

In odd fashion the Elks have been assigned to section 7 for football which clearly will lead to an East/ER neutral site matchup in the playoffs.

We'll miss ya in 7AA, Al. Might have to venture over to an Elks section final at the Sanford Center or in St. Cloud someday, as the schedule allows. And welcome, Blaine and Coon Rapids. Re: MINNESOTA YOUTH HOCKEY - ANNUAL MEETING

Elliott, how about we conduct a statewide survey of all of the association presidents as to whether or not they would support a proposal to go back to the previous eligibility rule of play where you live? Make it anonymous if that helps improve the response rate. And then, if the responses are 75% ...

Then the remaining 128 plus or minus would be AA and A by population and opt up and petition downs.

Re: MSHSL Boys Hockey Reformatted

If there is to be a third class the MSHSL would probably look at the AAAAAA in football and take the top number of teams and form a AAA level. Knowing they like to consider 64 teams per class and there are currently about 156 teams - subtract 64 twice or 128 and that leaves = 28 teams or so to move ...

I appreciate your thinking outside the box but 6 classes? I'd be in favor of expanding to 3 but 6 is way too many.
Also, you weighted single A the same as AA.
You also did the same with each section - some sections are worth much more than other sections.

Revamp it and get back to us.

Re: The Gentry Academy Thread

In the spirit of "adapting" and getting creative with solutions to compete with some of these super programs why don't more small programs follow the Rock Ridge model. They don't actually have to combine schools like that, but just for certain sports (keep the youth programs separate too). Look at ...

Re: The Gentry Academy Thread

The problem I see (not with Gentry) is that a third class of hockey has progressed in Minnesota. The problem with it is how do you segregate this class to make things more even for finding a state champion at the various levels. We currently have: 1. small schools 2. bigger schools and 3. those that...
