B-A ranks
DE's success will largely depend on their ability to retain second year bantams. Last year they lost some top players to Varsity. This may be a more common thing for DE as Duluth Marshall is getting more eastside kids to play varsity and therefore, more pressure is put on DE HS to bring up top banta...

I think the top players will be those that made the advanced 15 rosters and will be returning.

I am mostly familiar with D10. I think that Lovick and Aus from Centennial, Jensen, Tufte, and Harper from Blaine were 1st year Bantams that made the D10 roster.

List any other 1st year Ban...

blades vs icemen
Both teams have improved their rosters. The Blades improved their roster by a larger margin by adding Max Smith and two players from the Shattuck Tier 1 Bantam team. Head to head, I'd spot the Blades 5 goals.

EDINA
I'm getting a little tired of the childish Edina bashing. I like beating Edina as much as the next guy, but I must say that the Edina players and parents I've met have been nice people. Edina continues to have a quality program and that will continue. Deal with it.

blaine vs roseau
Roseau took a 2-1 lead 10 minutes into the game with even play. Roseau's second goal was scored with the net clearly off of the mooring before the shot was taken. Ref conferred with the goal judge and it still counted. After that it was all Blaine, but Lee was great in the nets. Shots were in the ne...

Northern teams
Matchups don't look good for Sartell, D.E. or G.R. They are facing the 3 best teams in the state and all three looked awesome in regions and should be ready to fire. All three have played tough schedules and have had few letdown games this year. Edina is susceptible if goaltending gets shakey, but t...

My two cents:

Don't change anything!

4 TC area teams vs 4 outstate teams makes a great tournament. I don't see why we need to have a 5th or even 6th TC area team make the state playoffs when they haven't proven themselves as a top 4 from the TC area. Sure, the #5 from the TC area cou...

roseau
I believe Roseau's tie was to St Cloud Black in January. Roseau's loss was to Stillwater in the Moorhead Tourney in a shootout. They had some tight games against lesser opponents early in the year then blew out those same teams later. I don't think they've played any ranked teams from the TC area ot...

Princeton BA B1
Good team. Won D10 league (a league very deep in good B teams) which guaranteed them a #2 seed into regions. They lost to Blaine late in the season and lost (to Chisago Lakes I believe) in the D10 tourney and lost to Blaine in the 3rd place game which was meaningless for both teams as far as playoff...

I think most associations do a pretty good job with the youngest kids and follow these guidelines pretty well. While I strongly agree with what Lucia says, I still believe that there is no magic method. Success of the player mostly falls on the player, regardless of age.

I think the most imp...

D10
In championship games, D10 plays 5 on 5 until a winner is determined. The 2004 PW A game went 5 OT's (first game of the morning) Followed by two other OT games. The schedule at Anoka was running almost 3 hours behind by the end of the day. Good stuff.

It's hard for a team to beat a league rival for a third time especially when on the oppenents home rink. I'm not too surprised by St Cloud's win (2-0). They play very sound D. I was more surprised by Elk River's 5-4 win over Champlin Park since Elk River has had trouble scoring all year long and Cha...
