Nice to see some interest here for the JGA teams from Minnesota. Since most of you are not familiar with the programs of recent years, here are my observations since I was at the Tourney and my son has played in many of these big games. Edina and Wayzata are clearly the top tier of JG hockey. WBL, S...

Sounds like average players that realize they aren't that good and don't want to make the commintment. Nothing wrong with that, but no need to blame the coach. That is a rather ignorant comment. These kids work as hard as anyone and they are who they are-solid high school players. If going to the r...

Heard some solid players are considering Junior Gold. Sick of the BS and just want to have fun their senior year. You need the studs, but you also need depth.

Besse one point short from Mayasich record. Class act and great player

Class act? could have at least shook one of his former team mates hand at the end. Dingman was the goalie for his Bantam championship, could have said hi

He will reinstate when he realizes this will hamper future recruiting efforts. What top end kid is going to want to deal with this crap. He will also ge reinstated if there is an injury. Lot of top end kids have many more options than in the past. Good for them and too bad for HS coaches that are fu...

The privates are going to have to reconsider who they bring in, since the new crop are looking to get to the next level, not necesarily play for the glory of the high school. I am sure AB was told from the time he was 8 that he was as good or better than the famed '88s. Now if the slope to greatness...

Okay, I guess I'll ask. How good is this player? Is he a sure-fire Division I player? At same age it was opinion of many on this thread that Gaarder was superior to Budish and Everson and some older players like Jake Gardner's younger brother were a disappointment in the WCHA. Anyone dare take a st...

YHH would get more clicks if they had a hottest hockey mom contest. Get those glamour shots ready gals! There is some great talent out there and it should get recognized. Lets vote for every level then have a final vote for best overall. Mite moms should be a separate competition since of the built ...

Do you think than none of these players would have achieved success without AAA? If the answer is yes, then it is key to their development. All these kids were good at a young age and were recruited to play. If they chose camps and other development activities, my guess is that they would still be g...

Andrew Alberts never played "a". Played the equivalent of JGB as a soph. Now in NHL. Worked his tail off and grew into his body well. Extreme case.

I have seen about 8 majors given in all the bantam games I have seen so far, and not a single one was deserving in my opinion. Boarding is now called whenever a check makes a noise along the boards. Kids fighting for position along the boards and someone gets pinned-CFB or boarding. The pendulum has...

Most likely the kids changed residences from SSM to home. If kid is returning to his home, and is not playing for two teams at once, there is nothing wrong with playing for the association Bantam team.

I am hearing some big associations are passing over a lot of 2nd years in favor of 1st years for the A team. Don't believe that was the intent, be a development tool for the AA team.

In what universe is Edina, EP, or Wayzata AA teams ever going to play the second tier A or AA teams outside of a district game? All this complaining is meaningless since you will never get the chance to get soundly beaten by the bigs. Just be thankful that MN Hockey is giving you the chance to play ...

Freshmen Alec Baer who played last year at St. Louis Park and just got back from MN Advanced 15's in NY started school yesterday at Benilde.
You win with upper classmen. My prediction he is in the WHL or USHL in one or two years. Nice pick-up, but will be gone before his eligibility is up.

STA had 13 blowout victories last year against weak teams. A very weak overall schedule. Point is they are A, play an average schedule at best, and they still have players flock there to develop their hockey skills. Playing A vs. AA will not hinder a kids development in youth hockey. There will be p...

You have to be joking, right? Those schools schedule SSM and some of the other best prep schools in the country..... The strengths of schedule are towards the top. You have been blinded by your jealousy. Seriously? They played SSM, but they also had 2X Rich, SSP, NSP, Sibley, Lourdes, AHA. Lot of w...
