Re: Day 1 Class A

The officiating for the class A semi's today has been subpar at best, wow.

Re: Early Christmas Present: Boys State Hockey Tournament (Meeting Dec 3rd)

Per a HS coach indoor games can resume January 11, and with the immediate opening of outdoor rinks could there be games played outdoors sooner as long as within capacity guidelines?

Re: Early Christmas Present: Boys State Hockey Tournament (Meeting Dec 3rd)

Great news! To those telling us about # of cases its pretty well established that the PCR tests do not indicate the actual positive presence of this strain of Covid-19 so those numbers are VERY overstated. We understand this is a serious thing but let us have good news about return to play without q...

Re: covid and MH

A true double standard, which our governor doesn't seem to care about. See big box stores vs. everything else shut down; hopefully most cities/associations have the resources available to move things outside as soon as the weather allows.

Re: covid and MH

Keep in mind a standardized PCR is going to detect if you've EVER had the antibody in your system so there are going to be false positives with the numbers you are seeing everyday, this is why many people are asymptomatic. No standard has been set at what constitutes a false positive but generally a...

Re: MSHSL Oct 1st Meeting (Boys Hockey Season Fate)

Good to see there is still some hockey being played with a common sense approach despite all the madness about cases and people constantly feeling the need to inject their opinion.

Re: MSHSL Oct 1st Meeting (Boys Hockey Season Fate)

Its too bad that some of these school districts are overreacting based on cases. Cases do not equal crisis, the most common test (PCR) is very flawed in that it shows if an individual has ever had the virus in their system, and not if they currently have the virus, which is highly inflating case num...

Thanks 6AAGuy for getting a little common sense back in the discussion in lieu of the fear mongering from a few others. While our way of life has been altered for the time being, the sky is NOT falling.

Re: Minnesota Hockey Taking Over?

Medical/scientific knowledge on Covid has come so far in the past 6 months that an outbreak should no longer be a threat to shut anything down like it was when the NBA and NHL stopped their seasons. At that point the thought was that the hospitalization/fatality rate was going to be unprecedented fo...

Re: Transfers 2020-21

Even if true, I wouldn’t give up on Denfeld yet. Hermantown has chocked the last three years. Alexandria, Greenway and Mahtomedi have all done the “impossible “. This kid is the real deal though Raider! I don’t like his antics on the ice; but there is no denying how good he is. He’s exactly the guy...

Re: The Hermantown Thread

What a post Ranier2, so true and funny! As long as their current AD is there I never them moving up, I don't believe the coach has any say in the matter. Everyone outside of the 55811 knows what a joke it is that they still play A but until they win 10 state tournaments in a row they are right "...

Re: Out State Recruitment -- STA this year and going forward

From my coaching days I know that the MSHSL puts the onus on the AD of each school to police this and follow the rules. They will only step in when absolutely necessary.

Re: The Hermantown Thread

Kniven hit the nail on the head. "The AD" doesn't care about competing at the AA level, they are all about chasing trophies. Because out shooting your opponent 50-10 in the section final and winning your QF game at state by a touchdown certainly isn't about competing. The best though is wh...

Coach Flaherty was the backbone of building and maintaining the Marshall boys program, ever since he got sick the numbers have been in a downward trend.

Re: Class A QF: North Branch vs. #2 St. Cloud Cathedral

Awful officiating that period, North Branch player gets crosschecked on a partial breakaway no call and 2 bad interference calls - especially the 1st one took away their early momentum.

7A makes no sense. Used to go back and forth between Duluth and Virginia each year for semi-finals and finals. Now its been in Virginia the last 3 years, and last week Duluth Marshall played Proctor/Hermantown in Virginia. If they are going to keep it up there each year at least have the semifinal g...

Re: 7A - Thoughts

Greenway is the only team that can contend with Goliath in this section, If they can consistently play like tonight should be the 2. But going to be very interesting to see how 3-7 plays out. Could be any order for Denfeld, Eveleth, Virginia, North Shore, and Falls. Think 8-10 will be Proctor 8, Hib...

Hermantown Bantams took Greenway to the woodshed last Season and that was without Pierce.[/qu...
