SOS, Who beat who, LPH Rankings, Section seedings...who really cares? Throw all of that out the window because in this section upsets have happened and will happen. No one is safe!

Section 7AA

There are not too many teams that you can count out in these sectional playoffs. I can't believe that anyone is looking forward to any particular opponent. It is going to be tough to come out of this section. Good Luck Girls!

Is not the goal of the state tournaments to crown the best team in each division? I don't think it is to find the best eight teams. The best 12U team regardless of where it is from will beat the teams who fail to make it through any regional. Just make it through your regional and quit complaining. ...

Where are the postings for the top four year old girls. Thats where we are seeming to go next. Does anyone actually care or know who the top 10U girls are? And how many of those girls will continue and play at higher levels. Lets get real!

I think you can rank the Duluth area teams any way you want but history tells us that they play extremely close regardless of rankings. So look out it will be a dogfight to the end.

Prediction

Right on when you say that you can't compare this years team to last years. That goes for most of the teams in the section. What everyone needs to look at is who both of these teams have played thus far. It won't help on the ice, but may lead to some clues about readiness,

B Teams

In some instances, "B" teams are formed because geography dictates it. If a"A" team has to travel 2 1/2 hours to play "A" Hockey or an "A" team needs to travel to play that team, it becomes logistically impossible. Some of you make it sound as if teams are bei...

Re: Advice needed

I would like some help from the people of this forum. Here is my dilemma: I have a daughter, she will be a freshman in H.S. this year. She will try-out for the H.S. team, because of possible nepotism she may not make the squad. She can return to u14. Which is fine w/ us, but we do not want to see h...

The thing about realignment is that most of the top teams are playing each other regardless of the section that they reside in. Play your games and the cream will rise to the top.

You are right. It is spoken like a dad of a daughter in 7AA where #4 seed beat #1 seed and #3 beat #2 in the section semifinals. Then #4 seed beat #3 in the section championship. I know that I still wouldn't want to destroy rivalries to try and ensure the "best" teams make the tournament. ...

A couple of questions to think about.... Did the best team from each section win and advance? If not take care of business in your own section before you complain about section alignment! Would you want to advance because you were the second best team in your section? Just win your section and you w...

Thanks SECoach! There is no reason to manipulate the sections on the basis of competition. It would be interesting to know how many teams outside of the "POWER SECTIONS" actually beat teams within those sections but didn't make the state tournament? The girls play the game and we parents a...

If you realign sections to try and get it to be more competitive, how long does that last? All programs around the state, both strong and weak or big or small go through cycles. The powers will not always be powers. Girls hockey at the high school level is still developing and is so at different rat...

Fact of the matter is the team that won, PHM played better in this game. Duluth came up short. Laura Bellamy, a senior captain I believe should have been in the game. PHM has never defeated Duluth with Bellamy in goal. Turner is a very good goalie and will have many moments in the next two years to ...
