Re: Benilde High School Coaching
Are you suggesting that they may have some students going there for a " reduced tution"?

Is the answer open enroll? Or is the answer, let the ATHLETIC DIRECTOR handle it. This topic should be
re-named... WHEN PARENTS GET IN THE WAY....

Edited by: mnhock at: 5/8/06 8:35 am

Re: 2006 Coaching Vacancies
You also have to go out and find the "right" type of hockey player. A student-athlete who is also looking to walk-the-walk and talk-the-talk. Are they out there? Sure, you just have to find them.

Re: St. Thomas Recruits
At some point every coach is going to be "looked at." Should Carroll will be looked at if he continues to make it to the NCAA's and goes 0-2. No, but he will be. Gorg does a fine job at UST. As for his assistants... he's got enough for nearly every player. <!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :lol --...

Re: St. Thomas Recruits
I believe UST loses some of their tops players as well. This means some of these HS recruits can play right away. That hasn't always been the case. Gorg always seems to get 7,8,9 quality recruits each year. Wonder how long he'll remain at UST?

Re: Coaches of the year
Yes Osiecki has done tons for the high school game, mostly on the boys side though. Great jog with the Blaze this past year, so I can somewhat agree with you on that one. But there are criteria that the coaches association look for, did he meet those??

Yes, the Classic Suburban willl miss coach Ball. He's leaving on his terms I believe?? Good job this past year as well. So decent 1st four posts. Stick around.

Edited by: mnhock at: 5/4/06 6:34 pm

You must be the only person that is surprised Drazen has moved on. Didn't really fit in. Yep, great player though. Plays with a BIG chip on her shoulder.

Re: State's Top Goalies
I don't have time to check stats, but my questions would be, "how many minutes did C. Richards of Richfield have?" As many Scavo and Porter? I highly doubt it. Then I would go to S.O.S. NSP and SSP play a much stronger schedule. Save % for Scavo was something like 94-95%.

I wouldn't be the slightest surprised if she ends up wearing purple-silver-black in the MIAC. Yes, I know she has ability-skills well above the MIAC. Just wouldn't be surprised.

I like the guy who put the addition on his house(about 200 feet called the long house) so it could reach the county line. Now his son can play for the better team. No open enrollment or getting a waiver in Canada.

evaluators
I really hope they didn't have special evaluators for each position. These were college coaches right? They know hockey and what each position player should be able to do. Megan Pezon was cut last year if I remember right. Didn't have a good weekend and paid for it. Yes, it seems like the same old n...

Why don't they just promote Giesen? He's been around the college game for some time now, the SCSU players and recruits like/respect him and he deserves a head coaching job.

Re: equipment
not sure why people feel the need to wash their equipment at all. yeah, yeah.. I know the smell. Growing up in the 80's and early 90's we never would even think about washing our stuff. It just doesn't need to be done. Wash your body when your done with practice or games, not your equipment. Dishwas...
