College Commitments
Is there a single link to go to see who has committed to colleges? There is a site for boys (Link) that seems pretty comprehensive. Is there a similar site for...

How Many JV Team Are There?
Is there a list somewhere of who does and who doesn't have JV teams? Is there something on the MSHSL web site? What percentage of schools sponsoring girls hockey have JV teams now?

Re: Insurance
The comments about insurance driving some changes are probably true. However, too often I think insurance is used as an excuse for pushing things through that wouldn't necessarily stand on their own merits. So, for example, I believe that the annual registration fee per player for youth Hockey is so...

Re: Helmet Requirement for Coaches
So far the HS League has successfully resisted the stupid "STOP" patches, so not everything implemented for youth hockey moves across!!

Helmets for coaches is a tough call, though. Clearly there are coaches who have been injured or killed, so the bad stuff can happen. I guess I woul...

I don't think I agree
The last couple of comments basically say that the administrators had no choice but to suspend girls for four games, or else Burnsville schools would have been sued.

I challenge that. There is absolutely an appropriate time to suspend / expel, etc. But I think it's really weak to hide behind...

Way too harsh!
Certainly no one wants to see hazing - i.e. something that is scary, dangerous, etc. That being said there is way to much overreaction to "one parent" calling in to complain.

I think the "zero tolerance" policies are often so weirdly enforced that they become a joke. Do yo...

SSP Youth?
Seems like the Packers still have a good base to work off of this year then - based on what I'm hearing, they should be good.

Of their 10 top scorers from last year, only two (Bauerfield, Crnobrna) will be back for next (2006-2007) season. I would presume that since they are Class A, fewer ki...

Is SSP that good?
Please Packer fans, don't take offense - I just don't know...is SSP really still that good (#1)? They obviously lost some big guns last year, and since many of the players on the team are open enrollees (I've heard that anyway), are some of the kids who might have moved to the team in the past no lo...

Fall League at Wakota
I have had a chance to watch a number of games at a 16 team fall league at Wakota arena this fall. Fall leagues are always kind of hard to read because it's hard to tell who the oppostion is - are they returning Varsity players, are they JV players with no chance of making Varsity, etc.? Sometimes i...

Let me sum up what I think I've heard
Ok, I think there are some facts that are being overlooked, but at this point I’m really most interested in figuring out a new conference. So, this is how I sum up what I’ve heard this far: Some people believe SLP is unlikely to be able to overcome the loss of Keseley and Frakie, at least in the sho...

ok - some of that makes sense. SLP will indeed take some time to get accustomed to playing without Keseley and Frakie.

I have a little harder time understanding the comments from "the Machine took my quarter." Is the "little birdies" comment supposed to be demeaning? It a...

Who are the scorers?
I have seen BSM and Totino - I know they are decent teams. I have not seen St Francis and Chisago Lakes - so a couple of questions about them. When I look at the Star Trib Hockey stats site I really don't see a lot of big scorers on either of those teams, and when I check strength of schedule from l...

Thanks for the info on the combnied schools. I am kind of surprised to only see two class A schools in this league - I guess I didn't know there were so many AA schools. Re: North Suburban Conference Next Season (05-06)
So are there any North Suburban fans out there? I would have to think that BSM, Totino, St Louis Park and maybe Chisago Lakes would be the favorites. Is there a 'sleeper' team out there?

Honorable Mention
Lisa Martinson (D) was a Classic Lake Honorable Mention in her first Varisty season last year. North Suburban Conference Next Season (05-06)
St Louis Park will be new to the conference next year. The Orioles have played BSM, Cooper and Totino in the recent past, but I have very little idea on how good the other teams are. Who will be the teams to beat? Who will be the teams that are least competative? In fact, who ARE the teams? I think ...
