Looking forward to the possible rematch between Red Wing and Mankato West. Definitely not the same teams that have faced each other in the past two years. Red Wing has had West's number the past two years, personally would enjoy seeing it go the other way this time around. Not as deep of a section a...

There's been a lot of split time between Mankato West's goalies Spiess and Wollenzien. Anyone with any insight on which one should be starting games come section time?

Hermantown's drop to 12 is mighty steep to me. Season is still relatively young, and they have the schedule to bring them back up. Princeton seems high for my taste I understand wins over SCC and Little Falls is the main reason for their placement. With their weak schedule aside from Tartan and roun...

Haven't been to a West game but excited to hear about their early success! They are a young squad so making sure they continue to build throughout the season and not become easily complacent should be stressed its always easy take things from a loss but its hard to learn when you win

Took the words right out of my mouth! Great read as always karl, thank you for another great season, your weekly rankings were an enjoyment to read, but you have really outdone yourself here.

Bad draw for Rochester Lourdes, Hermantown's got way too much depth, Kolquist, LeBlanc and Co. will be able to shut down Funk, Samuelson and Farrell. Hawks 6-1

The Rec Center in Rochester isn't considered the home arena of Rochester Lourdes as they reside in Graham for all their home game. Personally still think it should be held elsewhere, but it's not really home "ice" for Lourdes. Just to clear that up in case someone had that confused. Maybe more of a ...

I think we all understand where hockeyking stands on Section 1A final. Realistically Rochester Lourdes is the strong favorite here. I wouldn't count out an upset possibility though, this is easily one of the weaker Lourdes teams compared to recent years. But I still think Lourdes' has a better overa...

Went to the Red Wing/Mankato West game tonight. Pretty good game overall, the game was close in play although the score might say differently. Two killers at the end of a pretty otherwise back and forth 1st period. First goal came off a tipped shot, into the top corner, no goalie would've been able ...

Re: Red Wing v Mankato West

West has been the most up and down team in the section lately. A good question might be: Which Scarlet team is going to show up tonight - the team that lost to Winona 3-2, or the one that beat Owatonna by five goals last week? Red Wing has been far more consistent, and is at home. Totally agree, a ...

I still predict Lourdes will be upset. Can't imagine Faribo can pull it off. #2 and #3 seeds should roll over their opponents. The West vs. Red Wing game should be entertaining. West wins 1-0 2OT I wouldn't call any of the quarterfinals games for sure except for maybe Rochester Lourdes over Faribau...

Here are the facts scarlet: Fox has played in 6 more games than Weihe, but seen 270ish LESS shots. And has a much better team with much better defense in front of him. For these two to have the same save percentage, Fox isn't even on the same level as Weihe, much less Amsden or Morris. I wasn't kno...

Section 1A Playoff Preview The Forecheck You don't have too look too far to find the scorers in 1A, as the number one seeded Eagles of Rochester Lourdes present some of the most potent weapons in the section with Jason Samuelson (23 goals, 30 assists), Alex Funk (27 goals, 24 assists) and Landon Fa...

Being from St. Peter, Fox is not even close to the same level as Amsden or Morris. Effort wise, he's there. but skill wise he isn't. It looks like he is tied with his cross town counter part, Weihe, in save percentage. That should say something in itself. Numbers maybe nice and all, but saying "hey...

Not to knock on L-H/SP I think what they've done this season is great for their program, but give the Bulldogs the Winger's schedule and I don't think theres anyway they come out of it any better than Red Wing has this season. Red Wing has almost traditionally one of the hardest schedules in the sec...

Re: Lourdes

From what I can see, all you've posted are things about Lourdes, specifically one of their goalies whose last name is Neumann. You sound like a dad trying to promote his kid..... :D. Morris gets a lot of credit because he is without a doubt the best goalie in this section (maybe Amsden giving him c...
