At a private school they're taught to spell their name there, not there taught to spell they're name their. Perhaps that is why some parents send their child (hockey player) to a private school. It also happens to be much easier to get a roster spot at a DI or DIII school with good academics than i...

And hockey IS an investment. Every dollar and minute you spend on or with your kids is an investment. The crazy only comes in to play if you expect the return on that investment to be D1, Team USA, Ms. Hockey.... If the return you are looking for is a good work ethic, balancing a school/sport/socia...

Everyone knows if your HS team does not have National campers or never has its a junk program. That's just common knowledge  Just proud of what our program has accomplished, its been good for us. That has nothing to do with you or any other program. I apologize if you took it that way, was no...

Re: Hopkins/SLP merger for HS Girls?
Not sore at all, if someone leaves I wish them well if they arrive I welcome them. Have been consistent in that for the last 8 years or so that I have been around this forum. Always have been proud of our program and what it has done and tend to be protective about it.Racki2016 wrote:Why so butt sore Royal ?

Re: Hopkins/SLP merger for HS Girls?
Heard it from my spouse who heard it from a friend who heard it from their kid. Supposedly the AD of Hopkins showed up at HHS summer training today and said that HHS and SLPHS is combining HS Girls hockey programs... True or false? Wonder who is coaching... Wonder where the "home rink" wi...

Don't see how shifting a few teams around solves anything. As I said before either make it a real geographic tournament or try and get more balance to the tourney at the X. The result of this may be that section 4 and 6 loose a few games in the tourney over the years but you still will be letting in...

21 fan buses from Buffalo, might need a bigger venue. I wish there was a different format where we could get the best 8 teams... No wonder all the hotels in st paul were booked solid. Hopefully the last person out of town remembered to shut the lights off, they must have left at 4 am to get...

D6 I get the pain, just think of the USA women's olympic team losing the gold medal to Canada. It would be impossible to get the best 8 teams to state, there will always be some teams making it that are perceived as not top 8. What if Blaine beat Tonka in the first round of some new format, then wh...

Sorry for any confusion, but I do understand how the playoffs work. That's why I mentioned that rankings don't mean anything once sections start. I was only commenting on the previous question regarding who should be in the top 15 right now as a conversation piece (if it actually mattered - which i...

As a few have said on here already, the rankings make for nice conversation and comparison of programs during the season, but they really don't mean anything once sections start. But to speculate on the question of top 15, I'm sure Blaine and Buffalo will move up. Does Andover and Eastview deserve ...

Re: Lake Conference Domination
After tonight's games I think it is about time to stop talking about The Crimson and all these other pretenders. Another year of lake conference domination in girls hockey. The only teams that can beat the Lake teams when it matters is the lake teams themselves. The only reason 4 lake teams won't b...

I have heard after two Stanley Cups this coach knows nothing.... 19 PRACTICE QUOTES: DARRYL SUTTER DECEMBER 19, 2014 3:56 PM The games are such you’re not going to get by on shortening your bench. You might win tonight, but you’re not going to win tomorrow night. Telling people who have won consist...

Royals I respect your post, and the question I have is depth. Pretty good article in Sunday's sports section on Giles and edina and how he lost playing a shortened bench a few years back to HM with his stars getting the majority of ice time. They ran out of gas. He learned and admitted this mistake...

From what I have seen in past years, teams like the HS Elites 1s, Whitcaps, or Ice Cats would be able to compete consistently for championships at the National Tournament. Maybe even the final 54s or Northern Starz. I am not sure that the teams I have seen in the 8 section high performance tournamen...

Section 6 has the best coaches. Best players. And by far the best parents. I think all the teams should go to state. Armstrong is so much better then most teams in other sections. Did you parents get the lawyer and show up at the MSHSL meeting yet? now there is an intelligent rebuttal, are you look...

Football changes were more based on scheduling issues for the regular season, sections were unchanged . I think if you looked at 6 last year Armstrong would have been a top seed in all but 2 sections, as one of the bottom teams in 6 they have arguably the most difficult road to the X year in and ye...

Actually this is not correct football sections were changed 3 years ago (regular season conference changes begin next year), they now reseed the section finals, multiple teams from the same secti...

As I've said many times on this forum it is not broken. The Mission statement of the MSHSL is not based on strength of programs. Only factors are enrollment and geography. The reason fringe of the suburbs teams move out state is based on declining enrollments and coops in the out state. If you are ...

In the history of this forum it has pretty much been people from section 2, 4, and 6 that complain annually about overloaded sections. Then people from the rest of the sections who chirp back that they are just whiners. In the end it should be about creating a good tournament but instead it always e...

Another slightly odd evening with a trio of 2-1 games. In the first game, Hopkins nipped Edina 2-1 to the surprise of everyone on the panel. It looks like Williamson has been missing from the box score for several games and that may be putting a damper on the Hornets' scoring. . Williamson has been...
