Nice job Karl. Great thoughts on Lee and Eden Prairie strategy. Makes sense. A lot of teams seem to try and put their focus on the regular season and overplay their players before the playoffs. Two bad things happen when coaches do that and that is the kids get worn down and don't develop everyone. ...

That Micah Miller is looking good. Does anyone know anything about Bauer Neudecker? From SLP. His stats look good but will it be that he does not play a "AA" schedule which excludes him from the conversation? if anyone has seen him play do you have an opinion on him?

Nice job karl. I really like what DE is doing with their goalies and they have a balanced team. it will be fun to see how the end up at the end of the year. I am anxious to see how stillwater does this week. This week could shake up the rankings

Bb since you saw the game i don't need to answer the 3 questions. I hope you don't think you have to talk to coaches or watch them practice to have an opinion on how a game was played. Did i have to do that to know Bobby played a good game and as a freshman? maybe you were too busy talking to your t...

ok. i haven't seen CM play a whole lot, but if he is the best player in the state. how many goals or total points do you think someone has to finish ahead of CM to win Mr. Hockey? seems like it will need to be 10-15 points, also depending on the schedule played.

was watching the Minnetonka game tonight on the Lets Play Hockey game of the week internet stream. freshman Bobby Brink got player of the game by announcers. Had a nice backhand for a goal. Brink looked real good anyways and for a freshman that was good.

Is it right to think that scouts and colleges coaches select Mr. hockey and not the high school coaches, other than any lobbying they may do? I just hope who ever wins Mr Hockey this year will be because he earned it and not just because a player is supposed to win it. Should be interesting next 1 1...

Too early to start thinking Mr. Hockey?

About 5 weeks on with about 7 weeks to go before sections. Is it too early to start talking about possible Mr. Hockey candidates?

Top of my ticket today would be Ben Meyers from Delano and Blake Maclaughlin from GR.

An argument could be made for some of their line mates to. Others?

nice summary once again karl. it was nice to be able to watch those games this past weekend in Edina. couple thoughts. GR was a little deeper than I thought they would be which was nice to see. Solid tender, great first line and solid 2 line. They could go a long way. ER D play was really good most ...

i have been reading these posts and in the end I don't get what all the commotion is about. Other than co-op schools and the occasional foreign exchange student (whcih there are a number of schools that have these kids year in and year out), you don't have to worry about recruitment with this progra...

I meant section 2aa almost always has 3 per 4 teams in top 10 unlike the other sections that's all.

The rankings after about 10 on Minnhockey are interesting read but mostly waaaaayyyyyyyy off.

great job once again. When I look at your section rankings I couldn't help but wonder why the MSHSL does not realign the sections for hockey. Some are almost always too easy, and some are always hard. Coming out of Section 2 is like winning the State Tournament. There has to be an easier way to posi...

nice list again. A good week for stillwater. THE ER game against Centennial should be good one. Still not sold on HF forwards, if they get down a couple goals it could be a problem but Moe should keep them in all their games. Prior Lake won 3-1 with an empty net over Chanhassen, I would like to see ...

We came down to Moorhead for the scrimmages. It was hard to track the scores but I did have some observations. Anyone else see the games? Moorhead looks to have a very solid team with a couple of nice lines and good defense. They will be a tough out from that section. Likewise Bemidji I thought look...

Karl you generate the best discussions. I agree with you on GR and the distribution of the talent on two lines. Those three are the best in the state. Collectively. Casey is obviously a nice player, but teams can learn from Wayzata last year that if you put a body on him it disrupts his game. And Ja...

Great analysis. Don't agree with all of it but it was nicely done. The GR line is without question the best line in the state with those three on the same line. Wayzata demonstrated last year in the championship game how to knock CM off his game. EP does not have two other forwards in the same categ...

Was there are watched several games. There were a couple of goods teams in each conference. Many of the teams seem to be lacking. But I suppose at $900 for each player, plus the cost for a weeks worth of travel keep many players away. Ever notice how crazy youth parents can be? There were times I ha...

CM does not like the physical play generally that Wayzata brings. He avoids it and plays differently when playing a solid physical team than when he plays a team like Anoka. Didn't say he wasn't a good player because he is but the way to play him is be physical. He will have to figure this out befor...

CM might have been the best player on the ice on Thursday and Friday against an average Anoka team and an above average GR team but against a solid Wayzata team he was really no where to be found.

cant be too hard on the kids for removing the medals in the heat of the moment

I don't think Wayzata was overly physical in their style of play (other than the one player who has been mentioned) but it is very defensive minded. The center is back when they have a lead in the third and they even go to 4 down low when the other team is coming into the zone. It makes it difficult...
