This would require WBL to actually get back to the state tournament. STA at least seems to make it every year.

I feel bad for the hockey families of WBL. No matter how well they do as youths, and how hard they work to improve their game, it always ends up with unfilled dreams and expectations once they get on the high school hockey team. Lets look back on the season and see how well this coaching staffs doe...

Just a pretty lackluster effort from White Bear Lake. A lot of simple plays were just off tonight. Missed passes, a lot of shots missing the net, and tried to make the perfect play a lot instead of getting a good shot on goal. They definitely played nervous, and Hill Murray played a pretty smart an...

I wasn't at the game, but I got to know..... Did they run the umbrella PP with only one defensemen? OMG, 4 short handed goals in one game. #-o The last shorty was on a 6 on 4!!!!!' I hate to age myself, but I'he been watching WBL hockey since the 70's, worst coaching performance I've ever seen . Co...

The sad thing is this Hill team is pretty average too, and WBL had no chance. No Bear or Pioneer in this race, but what's to explain the WBL decline? Not exactly an inner ring suburb, so you wouldn't think changing "demographics" is the reason. Or maybe it is? I have no answer to this question. The...

This is the worst WBL team in probably two decades. No forward talent, and besides the top two defensemen an awful blue line. It's gonna be a long season, but should end quickly come section time.

Any word on if Dylan Malmquist is playing? He was taken off the ice early in the 3rd yesterday and I don't believe he ever returned. He only went off and stayed off since they were up by like 17. They didn't need him. And they're not Hermantown. They won by 2 goals. A far cry from your sarca...

I'll give ya that one. And btw, we should be playing LN in the final. We were screwed! 8) What difference would have made, playing them in the first game or the final, Hill Murray never would of made it past Edina anyway. Face it Hill Murray isn't good enough to make it to the final dance this year...

I see an even easier fix. Take a good team from 6AA and swap them with a weaker team from 2AA. Put Duluth Marshall in 7AA and then move Elk River into 5AA. Put Centennial back in with the teams in 4AA, then take Tartan and move them into 3AA. Lastly, take one of the middle tier teams from 3AA and mo...

That's okay.
I would say it's only behind 6AA in terms of depth in the section. The top 4 seeds were all pretty good this year.

I was kind of hoping to see Jaremko and the Elks at state. All number one seeds would have been one of the deepest tournaments ever, but the Hounds will be a tough out no matter who they draw.

Re: 4AA Final: Stillwater vs. Hill-Murray

The Hill-Murray Pioneers face its true top rival, the Stillwater Ponies, Friday at Aldrich Arena for a trip to State. Sadly we have to declare the rivalry with White Bear to be dead. 1 WBL victory in 20 matches and now they don't show up for for section finals any more. Sad, but true. Just because ...

I was at this game, and thought Wayzata was taking it to Minnetonka in the 1st ten minutes, but couldn't get one to go. Once Tonka got their legs going, they were the better team for the majority of the game. Minnetonka really wore them down as the game went on, and I thought Wayzata's goalie was fi...

I've never been to a East/CEC section final, but I've been to every Hill/WBL one over the last 15 years. Hill has obviously had the the major edge over the last 10 years, but the games are always fun and there's always a buzz in the crowd. Usually a one goal game which often finds its way into a OT ...
