Team Seeding in The AA Tourney

While seeding in the A tourney has proven accurate, the AA tourney is dead even at 14 and 14 with so called upsets happening every year. Is it time to go away with seeding at the state tournament? Even with a so called weak section 1, they have also produced upsets on day 1. what ar5e your thoughts?...

Re: t

The only people calling the last Stillwater win an upset are those outside the SEC who are brainwashed into the thinking hockey is only played at 5 or 6 schools (Edina/Tonka/BSM/HM/East).... confidence is a crazy thing. Okay, it was an upset...and it was big. It was a big win for the Stillwater pro...

Eagan went to the Dance in 06? Were they section 2 that year? Eagan came out of 5AA as a 2-seed that year. At the time the section was a mix of current 3AA and 2AA teams. They got some help from Apple Valley, who knocked off arguably the best team in the state, Holy Angels, in the section semis, an...

I hope this is true and i would love to see them in 3AA so someone can give Eagan a battle in that section This is excellent news however delayed. "Give Eagan a battle"? Until two years ago Eagan wasn't even a factor in section three. They are not a reloading Hill Murray with new metro st...

Hastings defeats Park 7-3 tonight, and have scored 14 goals in their last two games. Now 4-1 overall, 3-0 in the SEC, with their other conference wins against Stillwater and White Bear. Not bad. Sportsguy29, are we going to expect some better teams for a while from Hastings, or in your opinion is t...

Hey Happy, do you think Eden Prairie thought it was funny when the final seconds ticked off the clock against Armstrong last march? Keep underestimating section 3s SEC teams, especially come march. As good as Eagan seems to be this year, doesn't matter come March. I hope they are prepared, and don't...

This is just the start for the great exposure of White Bears weakness in the SEC this year. Hastings is not one of the teams that I thought would be in on the losses. If anyone was lookikg forward to a great " Hill, White Bear" annual match up, it looks like they will have to wait a few ye...

final score

White Bear 3

Woodbury 3

OT

Woodbury up 3 to 1 with 2 minutes remaining. White bear tied it up but couldn't seal the deal. IMO White bear is not worthy of their current ranking. Time will will prove that though.

Not very impressed with 216 this year. Our season tickets are right below the section. The rude nasty chants can go away! as far as I can see, there is a kid that graduated probably around 2000 that leads them all. really, late 20s and still hanking out with high schoolers trying to be their motivat...

I was at the game last night, and Hill was definately the better team in the end. I heard an interesting tidbot from an older gentleman I sat next to. I was told that two of Hills players are from Wisconsin. One from Hudson, and one from River Falls. In my opinion, if this is true, they are no diffe...

Given the criterea of what it takes to be a high school champ, I would have to say that Woodbury fits the bill nicely. They were the Bantam A state champs 2 years ago, and the Runner ups last year in Double overtime to EP. With the idealogy that this brings a HS state chamionship is true, they shoul...

One of the nicer new rinks that I have been in is the St. Croix Rec center. home of the Stillwater Ponies. Very nicely put together with two sided seating. Beautiful facility to drive up to also.

Well besides CDH and WBL, Woodbury doesn't have many quality wins. I think they are a top 15 team, but I'm not so sure about top 10. With that being said, I agree with you. I just dont think that Maple Grove is in the same league. I would have liked to see Woodbury be mixed in with the rest of the ...

After seeing another poor starting performance by Patrick Moore against Forest Lake, i don't know why Wes Bolin would even consider starting him in any of the remaining games of the season. He leaves to many rebounds out in front of the net and cant seem to stop any Break aways. Does any one else on...

Re: White Bear Lake-Ups and Downs

First of all you just included Woodbury in an inconsistant group. With a record of 14-1-2, and there only loss to Edina who is argueably the #1 team in state. Every team in the state is going to have a hiccup or two during a season, but i dont think i would call it in consistant. White bear was use...

I think Wes Bolin needs to be mentioned . He has turned the entire woodbury program around. Not just at the high school level but for the youth . How do you figure? I agree he is good and has done a great job with the high school but how do you figure in the youth level? Don't you think just winnin...
