Re: State of Hockey's Team

Edina will always have a handful of D1 caliber players on every team. With the sheer numbers in their youth program and former professional and D1 players who choose to live there it’s always likely they’ll have very talented and well coached players. But like an earlier poster said, a well rounded...

Re: State of Hockey's Team

OTC, I'm just saying, Edina doesn't like anything but firsts and many Edina fans will start showing up with success.... You have to remember all the stories about 2nd place trophies left in the locker rooms...??..  Heck... The whole city will probably come out with the Edina numbers on t...

Re: State of Hockey's Team

They went back to the Frozen Four in 2005, 2012, and 2014, reaching the final in that last year. He won a conference regular season championship every year from 2012 through 2017 (and yes, the last four were in the weaker Big Ten, but the first two of those were in the WCHA). This is when I realize...

Re: State of Hockey's Team

Obviously turning into a Lucia type pout fest on here... College representation is creeping up in percentage in the NHL and the longer development is turning undrafted players into future NHLer's. A win-win. Go ahead and watch the 18-21 year olds play 35 year olds in the NHL if you can't handle it.....

Re: NDTP Invites MN edition

The most flabbergasting thing on this thread is my good friend Hockey59 rattled off 47 1998 birth year D1 names from memory! ( or was it his well kept all hockey trivia personal Excel spreadsheet, or other private closely held sources? Although I have no doubt it could have been from memory. ) Eith...

Re: NDTP Invites MN edition

193 divided by 4... but the 193 could be from 6 or 7 birth years but you still can divide by 4 for a rough average.. of course knowing kids will enter at all different times.. but it is pretty simple to get a rough average per year. Some birth years might have 66 that end up playing D-1... and other...

AC Wings to 2A form 6AA :? Obviously a petition to move down, but it isn’t like they were completely overwhelmed in AA. yeah. that's odd. PageStat only has 8 teams above them at the A level this last season. 3 bantam teams in the youth level. http://www.minnhock.com/ps2019.htm Did I ever tell you t...

Re: Seldom noticed and under rated

Some I've seen: Burnsville: Grant Ahcan, Junior, crafty hard nosed player, small stature but obvious hockey sense and scoring ability Prior Lake: Matt Beaty, Sophmore, guy you like on your team but hate to play against. Always around puck and nipping at your heels. South St. Paul: Owen Ramirez, Jun...

Re: 2019 HP U17 or U16 Boys Rosters?

Remember how these are picked too... The NB coach is one of the coaches for 5AA team... Not saying kids aren't deserving, but always will be smaller schools represented, can't have the HP tryout money dry up if kids don't have hope of making it.. We can't all be Centennial.. Good luck in your games...

Wow... What was the idiotic part? Not a knock on NB, but a dose of reality on the process... No need to get the panties bunched.. having seen and been part if the process, it's true. It happens in each district/ section every year... Kids make it that are a surprise and others get missed... Some do...

Re: Study: Average age that Division I players commit is over 18

Many of the Magicians and Austin Bruins players have all committed after their 18th bday including this year both of the Bruins goalies. Magicians: Buhl, Keranen and I’m sure I’m missing some, but committed this year after their 20th bday. Your high end “prospects” are still committing around 16-18...

My book, Northern Heat, is now available on KIndle Select, for those cheap 'bored' members that have not read it.

Sorry for the cheap promotion, Lee, but if I don't do it who will?

Hope they stay smart and let the 5A programs continue to strengthen. Parity! You can have Cathedral back. Statewide Parity! We had Cathedral and Hermantown at the same time for a while and no talent stayed at the other eight programs in the section. Parity would be for Cathedral and Hermantow...

Re: Class A 2019-2020

Eveleth will be a team to watch for... I could actually see them pushing close to the top 10 next season. North Branch's very young talent will be a year older and return one of the best goalies in the state imo.. They should be well into the top ten for the next two years, but will have to figure o...

It will be either Brodzinski or Koster. The others are fine players and deserving their nomination, but this has been a 2 horse race since around Jan 1st ☝️
Brodz or Jensen imo

Re: McLeod, W. Shaver & Matvick To Call Tourney

Can you point out where I said that? Here's what you said: "Or do you think he's a white guy thinking about a hangin?" What does that even mean? I'm only too familiar with the sordid history of lynching in this country. And yes, a central part of that history is the racist killing of African Americ...

"One way"? I really have no idea what you're getting at. Lynching is hanging, pull out a dictionary. And, yes, I would expect most "white guys" would know the history of lynching in this country. As I said, a dumb remark. He apologized and I'm fine with moving on. So your definition of lynching is ...
