Great list of players. I would bet most of them played in the league as 16-17 yr olds and either left for major junior or college at 18. Still not a good choice for Lucia, he'll have big numbers, but won't develop his overall game. What recent WCHA players came from the BCHL? Nobody is arguing that...

Re: Mario Lucia

I heard to day it is OFFICIAL that Mario Lucia is going to Penticton next year. Good luck to him and his future! I like this move. The BCHL may not have the talent that the USHL has, but I bet their are some tough kids up there... I think Mario will gain a lot more experience by crossing the border...

This was fantastic... Very fun to follow. I think it was very accurate. hats off to Edina... I'm not a huge fan, but they've been good for a very long time. It would be fun to see what program has produced the best players after high school. Combination of college and pro players from each program??...

Here are the results from the survey on who would finish #9. I'm posting this here because, after detailing the next team, I will be setting up a new poll for people to guess who the #8 team will or should be. South St Paul--11 votes International Falls--4 votes Roseau--2 votes Bloom. Jefferson--1 ...

Why are coach’s kids usually good?

It seems like coaches kids are typically really good players… Why is that? It has to be more than just genetics. To name a few: Tom Vannelli – Mike Don Lucia – Tony and Mario Mike Guenzal – All three kids are good. Pat Guyer – Gino Mike Randolf – Jake Sertich (Roseville) – Mike Mark Aus at Centennia...

Re: Vegas Odds?

What book puts them out? I recall there were odds last year. Any chance WBL stays in Saint Paul this year? Or is it Mariucci again? I am actually cheering for them to end the drought this year....seriously it's been way too long! Hey SP Hockey... are you really going to gamble on high school hockey...

Is there still room in this tournament and who do you get a hold of to fill out an application to play in the Festival? Is it March 19-20th at Super Rink? first games i believe are the 15th in pool play This Tourney used to be an All Star tourney. The top 100 players from each class divided up into...

Not just this year, but I can't believe how much the White Bear Lake's program has fallen. They used to dominate youth programs and would loose kids to private schools... Now their Bantam A team loses games to highland park, and their high school team is never even in the running to get back to the...

I think The Thirsty Whale hit all of them. I think the Top two would be Roseau and Edina (as much as a hate to say it). They have stood the test of times over a 50+ year period. Teams like Eveleth and the St. Paul teams did really stand the test of times, and are no longer top teams. With that being...

Archibald is not the 1st D1 prospect to come out of brainerd. I hear you on them not being able to make much noise though. I know he's not the first... But its been awhile, and they are few and far between. I think Peluso was the last one. That was several years ago. What are the youth teams like? ...

This should be a really good Match-up. I think East has the edge, but I see Rapids pulling off a victory assuming their power play is clicking and they get good goal tending. 3-2 Rapids... Two powerplay goals.

ps - I think this will be the match-up in 2012 as well.

I agree with everything you mentioned about Matt... Maybe I got a little harsh. He is a great player and represents our State and Blaine well. With that being said, I still can't believe that Blaine retired his number. I think it’s completely uncalled for. Put a picture up of him (and all the other ...

Neither player should even be mentioned along with Minnesota's greatest. It shows that the Blaine program is far from a dynasty to be retiring a below average NHL players number. Just think if Matt played for an Edina, Grand Rapids, or Rosoeu, etc... He'd be one of 20 alumni to play in the show. Ma...

[quote="The Hammer"]The D1 prospects include Moore, Underwood, & Bischoff. I'll be very surprised if all three do not play DI. Stejskal has really shown some talent as well and with a good senior year could get some attention. This is a very good Rapids team. They are very fun to watch...

Really cool for Matt and well deserved but not even Broten's number is retired for the Rams... I think it is a little absurd to be retiring numbers for high school hockey.

I think this will be good for him... He'll be out of the shadow of all the pens star and become a go to guy in Dallas.
