Re: Seeding for State

Regardless of who gets seeded where someone is gonna have to beat 3 good teams in a row. The way the season has gone I don’t trust anyone to do that. It feels like if we played this tournament 5 different times we could have 5 different winners. It should be an awesome weekend in St. Paul.

Re: Biggest Upset on Saturday

Idk that's a tough call. I feel like all 3 winners Saturday underachieved early in the regular season but started to find their stride late. They were definitely upsets but none of them were shocking IMO.

Re: Study: Average age that Division I players commit is over 18

Many of the Magicians and Austin Bruins players have all committed after their 18th bday including this year both of the Bruins goalies. Magicians: Buhl, Keranen and I’m sure I’m missing some, but committed this year after their 20th bday. Your high end “prospects” are still committing around 16-18...

HOCKEYWATCHER ,i asked you to give me names of all the Wisconsin players who have played for STA , I said there has been one, Tommy Novak and that's it. Its really misleading to say STA recruits Wisconsin
Dude that wasn’t me who said they have Wisconsin kids it was Stanleycup

Was also really impressed with #15 on STA tonight. Never heard of him before but he had quite a few flashes.

No disrespect to any other team but these two teams look the best out of all of them so far. Great pace to this game

AA state tourney seeding

Best guess:
1. Edina
2. Blaine
3. STA
4. EP
5. Moorhead
Duluth East
WBL/Hill
Lakeville South

Can definitely make an argument for multiple teams in the 4 and 5 spot but feel like the top 3 should be pretty set. Thoughts?

STMA has some nice players and had they been able to score on one of their earlier chances this might be a completely different game. East looks solid but I don't think they will be able to handle Edina's speed and skill tomorrow.

I guess Mark is doing all the class A games. Would think he would want to be on the bench for his teams games. He's still an assistant for Orono correct?

That is not true. Although there is really no point in arguing over 1 spot in the rankings in December.

I usually always "pull for upsets" in the class A quarterfinals but this is the one game I will not. This is what class A is all about. Get your one year with a senior heavy team and make a run. GL Delano!

One thing I've always loved about STA is how hard they work away from the puck. They constantly sell out to block shots and back check extremely hard. They seem to be very well coached and play their systems well. Outside of stucker they don't really have a ton of really high end talent but they are...

If Jefferson wins tonight (which is unlikely but stranger things have happened) there will be 2 sub .500 teams in the AA tourney. I'm guessing that has never happened before?

By no means am I defending hermantown but I think it's kinda funny that when STA was beating them every year people were saying that class A hockey was made for "small towns" like hermantown and STA should pick on someone their own size. Combination of talent, alleged recruiting, and Bruce's comment...

I think STA has a real shot at the title. Great coaching, great goaltending, good D, a couple of snipers and a relatively easy section. Look out for this team. I agree they will be a threat and definitely have the easiest road to state based on their section (although I thought that last year too)....

Hermantown looks good, a lot better than on Wednesday IMO. Could compete well in AA no doubt. SPA has to get more pucks to the net and less fancy
