It is my understanding that the MGHCA site was created before there was ever a Star Tribune Girls Hockey Hub. MGHCA is not trying to RE -create anything. There was a MGHCA site a few years ago. They went with TST Media ("Hockey Hub") as their "new" website provider, in conjuncti...

It really comes down to the coaches wanting to have an access point for editing and loading stats from their site (MGHCA.com) and the Star Tribune needing an access point from their site for print publication reasons. When data is shared between two sites, only one can be the edit point. Because of...

As a former MN Girls Hockey Hub "page manager" for my daughter's high school team, let me say that I find this split ridiculous. Once *again* you lack a *single* source of stats, photos, articles, etc. for high school girls hockey in Minnesota. It's hard enough getting and maintaining publ...

I'd like to add that "joehockey's" post on college recruiting from the 2010 thread was probably *the* single most interesting and useful post I've ever read on either this forum or on USCHO. Joehockey - would love to see you dig it out and repost for new(er) parents. While my D isn't a goa...

Our experience with National Camp, Minnesota Hockey and the Elite League is similar. Our daughter went to National Camp twice, and played in the Elite League for several years. She is playing D1 hockey. She would be the first to say that playing against other girls from around the country was eye-op...

All seniors (2013's) from the fall Elite League teams (Red, Black and White) were invited to participate, most of whom did. The rest of the slots were filled with juniors (14's) and sophomores (15's). A couple of the girls arrived late or left a bit early from the weekend, so not all players listed ...

The Elite League sent 2 teams this past weekend to the USA-Canada Cup U19 tournament in Detroit. There were 16 top teams competing, 8 from the States and 8 from Canada and the tournament was hosted by the Little Caesars club. US teams participating included Shattuck, Chicago Mission, NAHA, Team Pitt...

Lindenwood is actually in St. Charles, MO, just to the west of St. Louis. It is a small, private school, with a strong athletic presence across club and Div II sports. Women's hockey has a 10-year record of club hockey, including several national club championships. They moved up to D1 last year. Th...

My understanding with the goalies is that the talent level varies considerably between districts. Having an automatic slot or two for each district meant that goalies were showing up at national camp who really didn't belong at that level. I think the at-large selections have been going on for sever...

From observing, I think at the lower levels of the tryouts, the talent distinctions tend to be fairly clear. The toughest is with the 'bubble' players - it's hard to say if one particular player should have been chosen vs. another. At the higher levels, there's just an awful lot of great talent on t...

I'm actually rather glad she *could* play - I don't wish injuries or illnesses on any kid. I suppose the snark was directed more to the people (parents?) who blew up a fairly insignificant incident into an national news story, for Pete's sake! Maybe next time take a deep breath and find out the deta...

Woah, before people get carried away on a wave of histrionics and we need to get out the smelling salts...a couple of observations. It was a tough, physical game...and WBL was certainly not a bunch of timid little kids skating around out there - if anything, they were the more aggressive team (in my...

Two good, gritty games for the Ponies against quality opponents (Roseville and WBL). Both games could have gone either way, and might again depending on how things shake out in Sectionals. I don't usually complain about ref'ing, but last night they contributed to goals on both sides. They swallowed ...

The first half of the game was quite competitive, both sides scored quickly, and it was 2-2 for a bit. Stillwater seemed to wear them down, and kicked it open in the second.

This weekend the league winds up with the Bauer NIT tournament at Fogerty, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I believe most of the teams will be there, with the exception of the MN Crunch, and Eastman Selects.

It's been some wonderful hockey - what talent these young ladies all have.
