Re: 2023 Boys Hockey State All-Tournament Teams

Who did they miss on the AA side? Moore? He and Nevers had about the same amount of points, but Nevers all around game makes a much bigger impact on their teams. Goalies? Erickson was great all tournament. I'm guessing that when the submission had to be in during the 3rd period it was a 1-1 game and...

Re: SECTION 8AA SEEDING

The Elks also got a great break on their 2nd goal. A shot by an Elk deflected off a Buffalo player and hit the safety netting behind the goal. Bounced out to the front of the net and another Elk shot for a goal. Most players on both teams stopped playing knowing the puck was out of play. Refs missed...

8AA 20 Moorhead 24 Roseau Sartell St. Cloud -Like 1AA, this section has a clear frontrunner that has been tailing lately, though the chase pack is noticeably closer here. Roseau continues to solidify its hold on the 2-seed with more wins. After that? Well, Sartell has a loss to Brainerd but has beat...

Re: 8AA 2018-2019 seaso

Buffalo's losses include OT loss in Roseau 4-3, OT loss in Bemidji the next day 2-1, at Moorhead, twice to Brainerd 1-0 and 4-2 both games out shooting the Warriors. Their only other loss was to Rosemount who at the time was a top 8 team in the state. You could say 5 0f the 6 Buffalo losses are too ...

Re: 8AA 2018-2019 seaso

Not seeing how STMA is above Buffalo right now. Buffalo has the head to head and our currently leading the conference. STMA has a bad loss to North Branch. Buffal is a 4 seed above Bemidji even with the OT loss in my eyes. Could finish with 15-17 wins and I dont see Bemidji getting above 8-9 wins. I...

[quote="backcheck9"]If STMA has an opportunity to get out of the M8 conference and get into the NWSC they should jump at it. Don't hitch your wagon to Buffalo! You can always schedule them as a non-conference game every year to keep the rivalry. STMA has outgrown the M8 conference and they...

Buffalo vs Bemidji

Buffalo played without their top two D, their number 1 center and a second line left wing. It was a close game with each team controlling stretches of play. Two pretty even teams from what I saw.

Buffalo

I watched Buffalo scrimmage Rogers while I was picking up my son from the rink. Braccini and Ward along with another kid who had on a Iowa Wild helmet looked really impressive. Hearing rumors Ward is going to the Wilderness now. That would be a shame. Buffalo would be a sleeper if they had Ward the ...

I would imagine they would try to join Buffalo like they have in girls hockey in the past and for LAX and some other sports. Could you imagine if Ward played with the Braccini kid who is a finalist for Bantam player of the year? I heard he was a stud over the weekend at 16's!

Armstrong has a great tradition of hockey. They have 4 of 5 players who played in the Olympics, a Hobey Baker Award Winner, 3 Mr. Hockey Finalist, and numerous Divisiion I and III hockey players, and a few who have gone onto NHL careers. They have had some great teams that have come close to state, ...

They were in the section finals in 85 and 2001. In 1987 they were #1 in the state and were upset by Edina in the semifinals. In 2001 they lost to Elk River. I have heard though some community members that Todd Weisjahn has resigned as head coach at Armstrong. Word is that former coach Bruce Johnson who has 401 career wins at the school wants to come back.
