Re: Early departures: 2016-17
Funny thing is, he wouldn't have been on my Early Departure list. One of my criteria for making the list is that the player is still eligible to play MSHSL hockey. Ryan graduated. I believe Ryan would still have MSHSL eligibility even though he "graduated", due to years in high school, as...

Re: General question
Something that just occurred to me, never thought about it before. Kid goes to an out of state school to play college hockey, get scholarship, etc. Are they still subject to out of state tuition rates, or do athletes get a break on that too ? I.e., which rate would the scholarship apply to ? They a...

Re: Ted Brill Great 8 Tourney
I see the invites have gone out for most sections. Thoughts on this event..? March 21-23rd at Wakota. It is not without it's drawbacks, but I think it is well worth it for the following: 1. Players that do not have a college commitment 2. Players that are undrafted in the USHL 3. Players that just ...

Re: Reillys and the Confederate flag
Odd to see this in the paper and in the video at startribune.com. http://www.startribune.com/sports/gophers/247698521.html video at about 1:42 http://www.startribune.com/video/247712921.html does make one wonder what makes someone want to have such a symbol displayed in their home and then allow a ...

My nominations for top surprises to date for the 2013-14 season: 1. Overall team performance that was a bit unexpected: Elk River 2. Weird yet surprising stat: Edina not scoring a 1st period goal in 6 games 3. Surprise coaching move: HM enforcing team rules more harsh than MSHSL standard and dismis...

My question is are there 4-5 senior defensemen more deserving of playing a weekend with the NTDP? Or, is this an add for the rest of the season? I would assume for rest of year since according the the eligibility sheet is now ineligible to play High School hockey. http://www.mshsl.org/mshsl/publica...

Can someone shed some light why MN has no public Div III school for hockey? Private schools are only option in state is a $30-45k annual tuition? My guess is that the state schools that would be prime targets (Mankato, St Cloud, Bemidji, Duluth) all have D1 programs. The other public schools that c...

Exiled One...perhaps you should confront the player who left the MSHSL instead of blaming a program for offering the oppurtunity for any player aged 16-20 to play. The kid had the choice to stay or leave. I think you've misread my post. I'm not blaming the NAHL program for anything, I'm accusing th...

Re: U18 MN Blades Major Midget team
Nice start to the fall season and a great schedule. This is why I think the Blades is a better opportunity for seniors than playing in the Elite League. The Elite league wandered off of its purpose (providing a league to keep seniors around and provide seniors with exposure for post high school hoc...

Pond, this 18 Select team is along the lines of what Brooks was getting at in that article. The team USA Hockey sends for this tournament is kids that are not in Ann Arbor.
