Park 5
EGF 1

[quote]Why is anyone even talking about Mpls Park? They will go 0-2. What were their season scores against some of the teams in the State Tourney?

When do they hold the District, MN, and USAH elections? I appreciate the throw the bums out argument; it is never that simple. The horns and tail are generally kept under wraps, a toothy grin and twinkling eye accompanied by a laurel and hearty handshake in their stead. Style over substance and a le...

If The Beave's point was to get feedback regarding (or to complain about) private off-ice (or on-ice) training centers, then it certainly would have been more forthright to express that initially. However, this thread has brought up a couple interesting questions. Why would USAH and MNH go through t...

Elliot, it seems there is room for DD interpretation. With 12 different DDs, I'd assume you may get a different answer depending on which district you are in. My question: what if the DD is wrong? No offense, but I can't imagine that USA Hockey will feel like it is bound by a phone call you had with...

Not sure how this slipped from Roseau improved over the season, to let's be more like Roseau, to hang up the skates until November, but I'm certain that will lead to your desired result - your season will be shorter, ending about the second week of February. I'm not sure that's what they're doing up...

Sadly, if something terrible happens on or off the ice (e.g. the cross-over-tilt-a-whirl malfunctions and tosses a kid, or a kid is simply not paying attention during a warm-up lap and runs into something), having all the I's dotted and T's crossed may ensure the catastrophic insurance coverage, but...

Perhaps a dad shouldn't be allowed to hop on the ice or hop on the bench, but he certainly can. The association is suppose to self-monitor, self-regulate, self-discipline, but if the association likes the guy, or he plays cards with the board VP, who's to know? The district is suppose to oversee the...

Does USA Hockey really enforce these rules? Minnesota Hockey seems to consider them to be more guidelines than actual rules. If a non-certified, non-rostered dad hops on the bench from time to time, that's OK. If a B team scrimmages a C team, that's probably fine if the B team isn't very good. So if...

Kids south of Hwy 12 and west of Hwy 169 are finding out that there is more to hockey than just what's in their own back yards. They are realizing that they need to step it up if they're going to compete on a state level. Youngsters in Litchfield, New Ulm, Willmar, Marshall, and even Hutchinson see ...

I don't think this is a stupid post at all. Kids at every level, especially the younger levels, look to the adults for guidance; unless he's told that what he's doing is wrong, he'll assume it is right and continue that behavior. In this case I'm sure little Johnnie is a perfect angel, as would be t...

Parents that love artificial noise makers could enter their kids in karate; nobody kicked Mr. Miagi out of the arena for twisting the little drum with the clickity-clacks. Besides, if they're hitting cowbells with drumsticks and shaking water bottles full of beads, how can the rest of us be heard sh...
