Some thought #14 should have been on varsity this year. Partially due to skill level and partially to weak defensive corp on varsity.

GR has not had a bantam team in recent years that "beat DE and Edina regularly". I do think notice has been served however. This bantam crew should be promising in coming years.

Here's a reality check...Wayzata loses MANY youth players to numerous HS programs. This group lost ZERO players. The only "average" players on this years squad were the new faces on roster,ones with similar name as the coach. 2nd power play unit........ C'MON MAN !! There was a personal ag...

Muley (or is it Mrs. Coach??)- you DO not accomplish what these boys did by being slightly above average. He did not get the most out of this group,(if so they would still be playing) they had the talent to win this section and make noise at state. You keep drinking that GR Kool-Aid.

I agree with Piper....at the game I wasn't sure of the call. After watching replay.......definite hit from behind, at very least-interference, never had chance to play puck. Unfortunately, ref's do not have luxury of replay.

No players lost. Only "new" players infused into lineup. Siblings.'Nuff said.

In response to mulefarm's comment to "average talent or slightly above." In DEFENSE OF THE BOYS- this years group of jr/sr's were not average talent. 2nd in state as PW A's. 2nd in state as Bantam A's. Not your "average group of talent". This year...[b]2nd in sections. [/b]

Northwoods- Not sure of length of futility. Not worth the effort to keep track. Sure it will continue though. This GR ABSOLUTELY had the talent to earn the section title.

Did not see the game,have no comment on the officiating. However, in athletic events officiated by humans, the outcome of the game will always be determined by humans. Whether it's ball four, or strike three. Fair or foul, officials/umpires/refs do play a major part in the outcomes, unfortunatetly. ...

Agree. Great effort by both teams. ER goalie played phenomonal !! Avery Peterson great game, and a great kid. Wish him the best!!

GR may have had their full roster vs. SF. I can't remember that FAR back. Bottom line is....goalie played phenomonal. If he does again, any team could be in trouble. We can play the "who beat who" game all day. This is a different game ,on a different day, with a different GR team playing ...
