Helmet

I think it is already mandatory in Mass. or so I was told. I believe there have been a couple cases where a coach was taken out from behind and fell on the back of their head and died. Think about it, the majority of coaches are parents, they died right in front of thier kid.

I don't know if ...

Goldsmith

I haven't heard the rumor but if it is true, Cambridge will still be pretty solid in the net. I would guess Auth would move into the starting role.

Re: C I

I agree about the Cambridge coaching situation being just fine. I was not a big fan of their coach anyways, there seemed to be very little discipline on the team and the team played like a bunch of hacks. They should have a way better team this coming year than this past year.

Ideally I would...

Pine City??? You can't be serious.

They would be a mid to low end hockey team and probably wouldn't win a game/match in any other sport.

Peewee question

I know this isn't about H.S. hockey but bear with me. How small of rosters have you seen at the peewee level? How small would you dare go? 10 skaters and a goalie?

Thanks

Class A

An idea like this was kicked around before they dumped the 2 Tier tourny, but maybe it would have some merit to keep schools in their proper class, thus making the A tournament more competitive.

Starting with the current class system, move any "A" teams up to "AA" that hav...

mshsl

I also think it is probably best to leave things alone. If the MSHSL feels the need for a change, they will probably end up adding another class like they do for every other sport. The hard part with hockey is like Joe said regarding success and enrollment not being tied together as much as it is wi...

Remaining Teams

From what I heard, Irondale was hoping to play in the same conference as Moundsview since they have a natural rivalry and were just waiting for an oppertunity to do so. Totino was also looking to change conferences, I don't know why or where they would go though. Since Centennial is already leaving ...

Large Schools

One thing to keep in mind is that not alot of small schools have hockey programs. Therefore the smaller 1/2 of the schools with hockey are much bigger schools than the smaller 1/2 of basketball or football for example because virtually all schools have these programs. It is also why hockey only has ...

2 Tiers

Although the whole idea of the 2 tier system was flawed, it did continue to put the best teams into one tournament. With the 2-tier tournament, Warroad, SSP and other class A powers would have all been in the tier 1 tournament. The first round of section playoffs would have been much more competitiv...

Spring Lake Park?

I heard there are 8 teams in the conference, with Becker and Big Lake on their own for everything but hockey. I did not see Spring Lake Park on the list, although I think they would be a good fit. As far as hockey goes, I think that for the most part, the teams would match up pretty well. Other than...

Re: Private Schools

Although the high school and youth programs are seperate entities, I disagree that they are not tied together. Look at how whenever a new public school opens in the metro area, a new youth hockey association is formed with the same boundries as the school district. In my local association, the varsi...
