Re: 1st Ever O.s. Face-Off All Girls Hockey Tournament

Is it common for tournaments to be added after the season has started? I think our schedule is set which is too bad because this sounds like fun. Its unfortunate that your AAA schedule is already booked. Maybe next year as this is shaping up to be a good tournament and we are hoping to be able to m...

Re: 2 A's

The best player went to Breck? Forced out? How so? Not quite true. I think you're talking about the family that hed their kid start the tryouts with PWs, realize she wasn't going to make a very mediocre PWA team, switch back to girls, make the A team and then leave to go play for Breck as a 7th gra...

Had this same set up in Duluth a couple of years ago and had a team go 3-0 and end up going home on Sunday. I am sure someone will be getting a bad placent on this one.

Big Red is dead too. A certain large cranium fellow and his army buddy decided to cut and run after the 5 freshmen fled. I guess the opportunity to play for the coach who won the 12A state title last year wasn't worth it. Check your facts!! Why again are you singling out the 8th graders? Why are yo...

Easy RAD your association didn't plan very well either. Not only do you have to bring in Blaine to fill out your rosters at 14's, you have 6 freshmen possibly moving up to high school. And your top 8th graders are scattering to the wind. Looks like you deserted your Army. Keep it real!!! I apprecia...

Too many teams...not enough talent! Championship games were good and predictable, but the overall depth and quality of the teams was embarrasing. Tier I/II has helped, but there is not enough skilled players on most of these teams even at the "Tier I" level. Not worth the $$$$. Scrimmage ...

No Checking Rule Change Is Official!

The rule has been changed and checking will no longer be allowed at the PEE-WEE level. What's the pole here people. Will girls hockey take a big hit? Will outliers be affected more as well as associations with smaller numbers? Girls hockey has been gaining tremendous momentum over the last 5 years, ...

I agree with those that support this idea. It is great competition and the 98 Ice Edge, 98 OS, 98 Ice Cats and 98 Machine are all consisting of girls that are 98 only. It has been my experience that it works either way, although I do like the team chemistry a bit better with having all girls of the ...

Royals, could not agree with you more. It is truly great to see teams searching and playing for competition rather than a trophy. Great for girls hockey. Inigo, I don't think it is something new. I know that this has been happening for a while, 10's 12's and 14's carrying a few girls in each level w...

Bottom line is over the weekend there were 22 12U girls AAA team competing in the state of hockey. What an improvement in numbers. Didn't count the 14's or 10' but I would think they were the same if not more, especially at the 10U level. Great for the sport and great for the progression of girls ho...

Wow, if you would have bragged it up that well BEFORE the tourney, you may have filled it. No need to brag it up, it filled up no problem. Just had some conflicts with Advance 15's, but it was still very well run. It was refreshing to see that the event was directed at providing the best experience...

Can you try and have the teams compete at one arena instead of 6? Great tournament, but to go from Brooklyn Park to Plymouth to Braemar, to Cottage Grove. Not fun. Never feels like a tournament to the kids.

RedArmy dad, congrats on the win, I did see your girls play and they were a very skilled and great U12 team. The question I have for you? Why is your team so small? Is this not like a short bench, 12 skaters, really? Why not have more skaters on this team? Thanks Peter. As tryouts ended, Centennial...

Centennial is certainly fortunate to have one of the best goalies in the state as they were clearly out-coached in every game they played this weekend. What the heck?? Thanks for the props to the girls who put in countless hours of work and gallons of sweat to get to where they are today. Yep one h...
