Sarsland's side of the story: "One of our leading scorers received a checking from behind penalty . . ." in a late-season game, Sarsland said. "I pulled him aside and told him he was done for the night. . . . A few games later, the same player received another checking from behind pen...

Headsup - Go have an argument with yourself somewhere. Takes a real man to come on here and bash a kid. The stats you posted and the comment you stated are irrelevant in my opinion. The kid is a junior defenseman playing in the USHL on a horrible team. And than you are going to make shortbus commen...

Lets see, HS kid 16 or 17 yrs old, playing in the USHL with 19 and 20 yr old, a DEFENSEMAN and he doesn't have a pt and is a -2 in 2 games. Yeah, lets write him off. You clearly know very little. Kids a very good player and will continue to progress. Committed to the U and turned down Ann Arbor. Ca...

Let's judge him by his decisions "on the ice" - in that game and his performance thus far in the USHL (2 games, 0-0-0, with a -2). Lets see, HS kid 16 or 17 yrs old, playing in the USHL with 19 and 20 yr old, a DEFENSEMAN and he doesn't have a pt and is a -2 in 2 games. Yeah, lets write h...

So Lee,
Honest question here...
With all the new and existing facilities in the area, what's seems to be the problem we're discussing for DE? Just a temporary retool or lack of talent? Declining numbers in the youth programs?

Don't know enough about the area. What's on the horizon?

A couple points: 1) Horton ejected, rightfully and kept away from the ceremony... separate topic. 2) BSM knew the rules of the tournament. If they wanted a player to participate in the ceremony they simply could have rostered him. They had a choice to either roster a player who was proclaimed to be ...

Agreed. I'll say it again... the knock against BSM has always been lack of class. Between Horton and Labosky (among others noted) last night was just another joke from a self acclimated program. Did they win state... yes. Are they a model hockey program... no. BSM faithful trying to get respect and ...

Exactly my point.. The debate should be whether it's really random or not. Pair the first round the way most playoffs work: #1 vs #8 #2 vs #7 #3 vs #6 #4 vs #5 I think that's the way (IMHO) they tried to do it, but just called it a random draw... I could be wrong, but it makes too much sense. The on...

If the seeding follows the traditional pairing, it will look like this:

#1 DE vs #8 Lakeville South
#2 Maple Grove vs #7 Moorhead
#3 Edina vs #6 Hill Murray
#4 Eagan vs #5 BSM

BTW... Karl I make the motion to not only lock this topic, but to delete it entirely.

People are fine to start a thread to debate their favorite team, but the work "sentimental" brought out some ties and strong emotions in all of us - myself included.

Everyone agrees the #1 factor last year was goaltending and it very well may be again. While Blaine was unable to generate anything on offense, the refs sure helped a lot by calling a terrible penalty with just over 1 minute left in a tied section championship game. Blaine lifts a MG player's stick ...
