Congrats to Johnson and the Bulldogs. Adams birthday and discussion is not unique. Having a June birthday is common and some other kids who have been in the same situation (birthday that would not allow you to play bantams as a 9th grader) include Drew LeBlanc- SCSU, Jake Johnson- Northern Michigan,...

Hard to believe that there is such little discussion about how Rau stayed at Eden Prairie when there was a tremendous amount of pressure on him to play the entire year at Sioux Falls. Congrats to Rau on a fabulous Senior season. He would be a worthy winner!

Karl, Nice job, I really appreciated puck81's last post. For a moment or two I was thinking he was an obstinate poster that no matter what anyone said he would just sit on his stump and take exception. This is the type of interaction I really enjoy on this board. This topic and discussion is about a...

Andy Welinsky

Karl, I think your statement is very well thought out. Andy's a good kid and I continue to find it alarming the way the Duluth News Tribune covers Duluth East hockey especially Rick Weegman. This article along with the article about Forbort leaving early last year seemed to bring out the worst in hi...

For all you skeptics, I watched Ben at Omaha and thought he might be the best player on the ice. Certainly the most noticeable. The USHL will do wonders for his game. Offensively he is excellant and has great lateral movement. He probably hasnt had to play a ton of defense where he has been but that...

Again lakeviewing, yes go to Air Force for education and degree, play hockey : a bonus, just like anywhere else. Maybe hockey allows a kid to get into Air Force who otherwise might not get the same opportunity.

Lou has been, is, and will be and awesome asset to the state High School Tourney. You dont have to love him but can anyone think of anyone who represents total MN hockey more than Lou Nanne. Former All American, Olympian, NHL player, general manager, coach, father, grandfather.... it goes on. We are...

I believe the red breezers especially the last design with the ranger trim complimented by the east black jerseys, socks, and helmets are classics, one of the tops in the state in my opinion. If East wore red jerseys then I would go with Black breezers.

Congrats and good luck to the Hounds at State. If they play like they did against Elk River they will be difficult to beat, the D and Goaltending have risen to the occasion and are formidable. Karl and Lee I disagree a little about your thoughts on this team compared to past years. Last years team w...

Heres the basis of my format. Cures some of the ills of single A , AA. Private school public school. Take the 4 finalist in each section A and AA and have them play opposite A2vs AA1, A1 vs AA2 ( Section 7 would have had Duluth East vs Virginia and Elk River vs Hibbing, with two winners advancing to...

THE TOPIC IS WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF YOU COMBINED THE DULUTH SCHOOLS. AS MENTIONED IN THE PREVIOUS POST I MENTIONED THE COMBINED ENROLLMENT WOULD HAVE GRADUATING CLASSES LESS THEN 800. I BELIEVE WHITE BEAR IS THAT ALONE.

If you took the Duluth schools not including Hermantown and only incuded Marshall kids who live within the Duluth Public School district you would have a graduating class of less than 800. If you took these kids and made one varsity team in my opinion they would be the most dominating team in the st...

Very good player. Think East could have got more out of him the last two years but fro some reason Randolph hasnt taken advantage of his offensive skills. Interesting comments, my 2 cents worth most from personal experience. You want to go somewhere that the coach has expressed a sincere desire to have you on their team. There is a BIG differance between wanting you to come to a tryout and wanting you on the team. NAHL is a very good laegue and gettin...

From what I understand. Air Force would love to have an NHL hockey player. If a Cadet wants to leave the Academy after 2 years that is an option with no furthur obligation. The other option is that if a player is good enough and there is high level opportunities presented to him the Academy will do ...

Taylor Wolfe was replaced by Trevor Ness from Wadena who scored a couple of big goas in the tournament. Minnesota played pretty well, their goaltending and defense was outstanding.
