Re: CCM NIT Team
Just curious if anyone knows how they pick these teams, namely the senior team? Is it based on performance at the Senior Classic? As mentioned earlier, the Minnesota Hockey website article states: "The Minnesota 18U Girls’ team will feature the top players from the recently completed Junior Fe...

At the high school ages, there have been other Tier 1 teams in recent years so saying Minnesota hockey only let's Shattuck and T-Breds do it is not true. My post said ---in season-- programs and, as far as I know other than Shattuck, there are no in season Tier 1 teams out of Minnesota. Name them i...

Did AA play any team in Section 4A this regular season ? They beat Simley (7-1), Minnehaha (7-0), and SPU (7-1) during the regular season. Or do those all become 0-1 losses? Probably not the latter since the MSHSL didn't actually enforce any rules, AA just withdrew from post-season play. Interestin...

Hill has at least four girls that live(d) in Wisconsin and actually some have play(ed) for Team WI development teams. Maybe they all live with a host parent ... Not sure if all these parents have made the move from New Richmond, Somerset, Hudson or where ever they lived before to Minnesota. or are ...

Good for Team United. SPA is certainly peaking at the right time. Hindsight can go in many directions. If AA did not get lumped into 4A maybe Totino would still be in 4A this year. Rather than an early exit in 5A maybe TG would be making inroads to state. They beat SPU 3 - 1 in an early season matc...

While it may seem like a slam dunk easy job. If these goal judges have not been working all season - what makes you think hiring goal judges for the Section games will be the answer. Adequate training ? Human error possible ? I have seen pucks bounce in and out so fast that goal judge and official ...

There are times when goal judges aren't available for some games. It's a hired position, and you need two per game. My point is, if the MSHSL doesn't already, it should require each section to hire 2 goal judges for EVERY sectional playoff game. This shouldn't be that difficult or costly (in the gr...

Re: Terrible referees
Does anyone have any idea on the policy regarding the use of goal judges in section games? I'm not sure how you can have a goal judge on one end of the ice but not the other throughout the entire game. Does MSHSL have rules on this, or maybe it's section by section? And is it the same for Boys Hock...

AA owner spoke with some confidence after his meeting with MSHSL last Friday. Saying all the right things. Holding the two girls out would have only help escalate doubt of their eligibility. I'll buy that if the players at issue are not the top 3ish players. I have no idea. Since the current AA own...

AA owner spoke with some confidence after his meeting with MSHSL last Friday. Saying all the right things. Holding the two girls out would have only help escalate doubt of their eligibility. They appear to be here for the long haul. I suspect that the MSHSL will not make a decision too quickly. The...

Re: Terrible referees
... No end of period buzzer sounded. Burnsville coaches pointed at clock which showed 0.00 on the clock. Referees talked it over for 10 minutes and waived off the goal. I was told by my daughter that the referees said that two referees said it was a goal and one said it wasn't. They asked the clock...

Bullgod, I think we agree more than we disagree. I was referring to the leader board on hockey hub, w/ ties it listed 45, today some go to 50. That's where I got the top 45. Thanks for the info. I tried the same thing on the Hub but with all of the goalies playing the equivalent of about 1 to 5 vars...

Must be a down year for goalies, several are below .500 and not in the top 45 on goals against or save %. Seems in years past a goalie at least had to be above .500 to make the list I would disagree. Only 2 teams of the 10 semifinalists are below .500 (WBL and North Metro), but I think it's good th...

This is not related to Section Assignments, but interesting facts though. Numbers were taken from the Star Tribune Hub sites: FOOTBALL 379 - # of Teams 7 - # of Classes (includes 9-Man) 54 - # of Teams per Class BOYS HOCKEY 182 - # of Teams 2 - # of Classes 91 - # of Teams per Class GIRLS HOCKEY 14...

The new competitive sections for the 2013-2014, 2014-2015 school years have been published: http://mshsl.org/mshsl/competitiveSectionsone3.asp Change from A to AA: AHA/Richfield from 5A to 2AA Rogers from 5A to 5AA St. Louis Park from 5A to 6AA Looks like AHA is back in Section 5A, did they tweak t...
