Re: WJC
Kind of a disappointing game, the US looked great at times but for the most part were outplayed by the Russians. On a bright note the US players did seem to be stronger physically and maybe a bit faster too but the Russians were pretty unbelievable with the puck (as usual).

I watched the US ...

Re: WJC
Last year was the first year that I got to watch the tournament, I think it was the first year it was televised in the US. Anyway, that is hands down some of the best hockey I have ever watched, tons better than college or pro. Too bad the NHL isn't played on an olympic sized rink!!!

Re: Best program never to make a state championship game
Eden Prairie will have a very hard time making a run at state title until they get a competent coach there.

Re: Best coaches
jeanbeliveau4, I'm not jealous, I'm a Bantam A coach so we don't even have to compete with them. I just think high school hockey should be about building a program from the ground up which includes mites and squirts all the way up not about kids transfering to a school after they have been developed...

Re: Zanman
If a kid is good enough to play hockey beyond high school he doesn't need to transfer, you're still competing in the same league, against the same teams. If you need to surround yourself with all stars to be noticed maybe you're not good enough to play beyond high school. And like I said before ther...

Re: 4th line
ajdjkdk, Trebil is at a point where he no longer needs to actively recruit. The reason I can't stand AHA is because it is hurting the integrity of high school hockey. High school hockey isn't supposed to be an all star league, teams like AHA make it necessary for teams like Moorhead to accept transf...

Re: 4th line
I forgot about those "unsolicited transfers" looking for a better education.

I do agree that they can be beat but that's the sad thing about it, legitim...

Re: AHA
Come on Zamman, not every coach has the luxury of replacing last years all star team with this years all star team.

Re: 4th line
Bottom line is that AHA has recourses and luxuries that other schools do not have, thank god they weren't around when I played high school hockey!! They're a half assed Shattuck that doesn't want to challenge themsleves, if you're going to recruit and take players from all over the state and elsewhe...

Re: where are they from
Either way it's a great experience but going with kids you grow up with and have been through everything together with is something special. Going with an all star team is expected.

Re: AHA
To me it's not as so much about about recruiting or even who wins titles. It's about kids growing up playing together and dreaming about playing high school hockey together. I couldn't imagine that making or winning the state tournament is as fulfilling for a kid on AHA as it is for a kid on a team ...

Re: Is AHA in a league of their own?
They should be, they're ruining the integrity of high school hockey. If I was a part of that program I would be embarrassed if I didn't win the state championship

Re: Who is the best coach in the state?
If you're talking about the State Champioship it came down to goaltending. Moorhead outplayed them by a mile but they just couldn't score and their goaltending was weak.
