Re: 3AA Final

Not a big fan of the cadets personally (way too much whining to the refs🤫 for my taste) ... but I have to say I have seen them play 2 games at the end of they year and TE has done a masterful job of putting together a game plan for them. Their neutralzone trap/ forecheck plan is hard to play against...

Re: Section 4AA thread

It has been said many times but it is ridiculous the advantage. Not one team in the state has this but HM. Absolute joke. It is 24 miles from WBL or Stillwater to Ridder and takes less time than from EP and on many days Edina for that matter. Roseville is closer than anyone to UofM and they are in 4...

Re: Association not allowing privates on top teams

This goes way back in Stillwater. In recent times, the Housley years were amazingly contentious. I remember one year when HM entire starting lineup were Stillwater youth hockey players ... and they went to state. Personally, I am a fan of public HS but will say this. With a lot of talent over the ye...

Re: The 2019-2020 Freshman Scoring Thread

I am not much of a fan of having Freshman on varsity (especially in AA where many of those teams would have the depth to avoid it but there are always a few who belong) Now that the season is drawing to an end which of these guys has proven they belong with the big boys in AA? From what I saw this y...

Re: Section 4AA thread

Speaking of coaches, Stillwater new coach Greg Zannon has the team playing a hard gritty game similar to how he played. It took him over half the year to get his guys to play that way but recently they seem to have bought in. Previous coach Matt Doman took the ponies to the state tourney his first y...

Re: Games Tuesday 2-4-2020

Nice win for Ponies with their top player not on the ice tonight! Seems to me WBL could easily fall to 3rd. Worst loss in the section (Irondale) and probably finish behind Stillwater in their conference. They both have games against CDH remaining which may have an impact. I think Hill likely top see...

Mahtomedi 2, Stillwater 2 after 2
Zephyrs dominated play until the final few minutes of the second, when the Ponies popped two quick goals to tie it.

Re: Eden Prairie vs Blaine

The trip call on the wall should have been a dive! The cross check was absolutely brutal. These penalties totally changed the game. As was said EP dominated the neutral zone and that was huge...but going from up 2 to 0 to down 4 to 2 was mostly about the penalties and reffing. After that the game ch...
The reffing has been less than ideal. But let’s be clear, EP has been taking it to Blaine for most of this game
Totally changed the momentum. I will say Blaine has been very bad in neutral zone. EP much better in the center of the ...

Re: Players under the radar at the tourney

Two defensemen who don't get much talk are Luke G #3 for Moorhead and #21 Nick H from Blaine.

Both were exceptional in their games yesterday. Make excellent decisions. Two of the better D in this tourney along with Mike V from Edina and Hunter P

Re: AA QF: Lakeville South vs. #3 Eden Prairie

For as much talk about the depth of EP's forwards there was they did a whole lot of double shifting and shortening the bench. Doesnt make sense to me.

LVS had the better chances late in the 3rd ... They may actually win this one in OT.

Re: 2AA Final - Eden Prairie vs. Holy Family

I have watched HF in all of their last 3 games. Stillwater, Prior Lake and Minnetonka all controlled more of the puck play during the game but lost due to Huber outplaying each of his counterparts. IMO - EP has weaker tending than each of the above mentioned 3 teams so this will be very very interes...
