Why are you so sure about the Denfeld matchup? Ive heard it is still a 50/50 tossup between them and another school.

Bemidji will surprise, if not seeded, they will give someone a run for their money. Defense can make all the difference with this squad, something those metro teams haven't necessarily seen a whole lot this season.

By simply extending periods to 20 minute length, the MSHSL could essentially add 4 games to the current 25 game regular season slate if you solely look at the amount of minutes played. Seems too easy? Top teams in the state then are playing 35 games or so.

[/quote] Yeah they've looked pretty good over the past decade but what I'm saying is that they shouldn't be FORCED to play up just because they are successful. They are good for single A and provide a good template for other communities to follow. Just like Warroad like I already mentioned. I think ...

blah, blah, yadda, yadda. 48 shots, difficult to believe let up even a little. What did coach have to say? Top scorer on team had two points in 3rd period, has coach give reason to put top scorer at risk of injury. Must just be difference in levels of integrity and respect for opponent. I believe i...

Ranking/seeds will definitely change after last night Fergus Falls shutout Apollo at MAC 2-0, continued strong finish to season and FF will definitely be #2 seed. Little Falls shutout Cake Eaters 3-0 Sartell lacks respect for game by running up score 17-0 on Willmar, get a clue coach. Sauk Rapids l...

Warroad has a 26 game schedule; anyone know how that happened? Any one else in a weird situation like that? Kittson Central was hurting for scheduling a full slate so the MSHSL stepped in and said any team willing to add them could play a "bonus" 26th game. I believe Warroad, EGF, and TRF are among...

Re: Detroit Lakes?

Detroit Lakes??? Northfield??? Not your best rankings Considering DL comes from a difficult 8A section and has played multiple state ranked opponents closely they are worthy of the ranking. They have taken Fergus Falls to OT twice losing once and tying the 2nd time. They have solid goaltending and ...

Cool. That's great, I'll definitely be up in Warroad later this summer/fall and I'll definitely look forward to meeting folks. Love Henry Boucha too, and think it's fine that he speaks for all Native Americans on this topic and should be the final word. Maybe come up for a Warroad/Roseau game, best...

People will be irked, but the school district and youth hockey association will concede to this demand and it'll be forgotten rather quickly. There's nothing wrong with the name Warriors, it's just the head logo. They've used jerseys in the past that were text only, which is what I assume they'll d...

Yep...I thought Warroad took it to them...those 4 dmen were clearing everything and everybody from in front of the net. The Green Wave really wasn't able to develop much offensively. Warroad forced them into a lot of turnovers, and was really able to generate a lot of quality shots on Weber, but he...

Re: TJ Oshie

There are two ways to look at this: #1 Oshie is from Washington. He was recruited by a booster who got dad a job in Warroad. He stayed in Warroad for only 3 years of High School Hockey, was a star player, won two state titles and left. #2 Oshie's dad was encouraged by his cousin to come back home w...

Three main general point to make: 1. I have never intentionally used anything I have seen in person to influence rankings. Even with the teams I have seen, you can't see all the games. I have always used the results of the games played to rank teams. 2. One game doesn't (and can't) make a season. A...

Didn't see the games this weekend but can comment on the Nelson hits last year in the play offs. The box score says the Bethune had a 5 minute major for contact to the head. Did anyone see if it was a bad penalty or just one of those unfortunate incidents that happen? I don't think it was intentional, but it was head contact. It was consistent with they way they call that nowadays. Marshall sc...

This is a year that I wish Warroad played a little more difficult schedule to see if they are really good or just good. They have not played a top 20 AA team. They have tied EGF and defeated Marshall, a couple of quality teams, but I think the jury is still out if their lack of depth can compete wi...
