I believe in 2012 they lost at home to Forest lake. and in 2010 they lost to Forest Lake at Forest Lake. First round.

Its a fun extra weekend of hockey so if able take advantage of the opportunity. Realistic though - Most of the scouts that are there are from the Na3hl and the USPHL.

Not this year. talent level top to bottom is lower then past few years. Although upsets are always fun to watch.

Question: can't A play AA teams anyway? does it really only matter at Playoff, regional and State play? kids / parents have to have some success with wins before they lose interest in the sport. Case in point maybe Forest Lake HS football. During this stretch of, not being as successful as they woul...

I am not sold on Duluth Marshall at 5? I guess yes a signature win over East, But only 8 or 9 wins on the season and losses to Proctor, Cloquet? A head to head with Forest Lake would have helped this one. I could see FL getting a 5 seed.

I would say both teams are down this year. not as much depth on either team and not as many high impact players. Maybe a few for Hill and 1 or 2 for WBL. I think this could be Stillwater's year. However, none the less, I'm sure it will be entertaining. Oh and to clarify, this is not a rip on either ...

in my opinion the AA / A system is set up for only 1 weekend a year. State Tournament time. To get away from the A teams playing an All AA schedule, until section time, they should make it mandatory that if you claim to be an A team your schedule needs to reflect that. At least half, or more, of the...

One thing I have noticed; I do not see as many coaches that stay at the same level for vary long. Maybe its more parent coaches that are following their kids? I reviewed the web sites of a couple associations near me, and most teams had a different coach at that level from last season. Maybe my rand...

This tournament has had a hard time attracting players so they actually reduced the teams this year by combining age groups. Last year they had a group of just sophomores. it was a mixture of varsity sophomores and rounded out with JV sophomores. Its just another weekend of hockey for those that wan...

one last thing - just to clarify on my last post. I am not disagreeing that the Flake goalie made so huge saves. he did. but so did the St Michael Goalie. Both goalies kept their teams in the game. I would guess shots were even.

I do not agree with that game assessment. I must have stood at the other end of the rink. it was a good, evenly, played game. Both teams had their flurries where they looked like a goal could have been scored. in fact standing on the end wall behind the goal St Michael goalie reached back and pulled...

don't get me wrong White Bear should be very strong this year. Someone told me they will have a heavy Senior team. I was just adding that Stillwater should be very tough as well, I do not think lost very much from last years team, and added some very strong bantams to the mix. This should be a fun s...

Hill Murray is listed very high. They seem to have a huge drop off in talent. losing to many top end players and only attracting average skilled players right now. I see them in a couple year rebuilding / recruitment phase.

I agree with you. the job discription of a goalie is to keep the puck out of the net. Plain and simple. how he does it is up to the goalie and their style. We've all seen higher level goalies (even NHL"rs) that have an unusual style yet are still effective. Yet as this game continues to evolve ...

The shots are more accurate, faster, more deceptive each level you climb. if a high school goalie struggles with over all positioning the next level will expose that even more. positioning and controlling rebounds are the 2 skills emphasized as a player moves up through the ranks. Goalie are not ju...
