B-ville Hockey guy, I agree with your assessment of the 16/17 crossover games. Lots of breakaways and short handed goals. I heard Boeser goes straight to Nationals as does Novak. Since Novak from Wisconsin he will come out of Central districts pool of players. Hopefully that will help a few more des...

17'2 Roster

One more year, In answer to your question they did only take 1 goalie this year as they have in the past 17 years. They cut the number of skaters sent and goalies sent at 17's for some reason. Zach Driscoll got the nod as everyone knew he would with his year at Eastview. Last year: Robert and Drisco...

Saw some of Section 1/7 17's game. It was early so just caught part of it. Section 7 manhandled section 1, out skating them and creating a lot of uneven chances. Bender and Bischoff looked solid for section 7, Swaney, Robert, and Jutting for Section 1. Section 7 had some other skilled players such a...

Urban,
How about Lakeville North, Lakeville South, All Rochester schools, Mankato?
These schools have only 1-2 players on roster as New Prague has 7.
Come on.

Hockeymannorth,
Maybe some of those players got a bye to 54 camp. I heard there were several kids who got these.
Evaluator for Section 1 was New Prague coach. Any more questions why so many New Prague players on the roster?

Nick Reis is a great player and should be considered.
I agree with Boeser, Novak, Versich, Krych, Ausmus. Would add Tweten, Bethune, Freytag, Malmquist, and Roth.

I'll give you a reason Lindgren should have been chosen over Driscoll and Ahrens. . . He won the big one goal and over time games when his team needed him most. He beat CDH in OT and beat HM to get to State. Driscoll and Ahrens failed to do that in their Sectional games. The sign of an "elite goalte...

Have seen Tommy miss many "perfect" passes by Versich over the years and no one blamed him of losing the game or failing the team. The halo over Novak is making me sick and I'm not even an STA fan. He isn't a one man team and has lots of good players around him. You win as a team, you lose as a team...

I'm very surprised that Chase Phelps didn't make this team. From what I heard he did well at National camp and made the USA U18 team that went to Czechoslavakia. Any thoughts on this?

Granttenn, That is too bad about Geuntzel not getting invited. He is truly a talented player and has done well in the USHL. I agree Hill will be very strong with Stattery, Anderson, Brown, and French. They should have another great year. I would not count on the 6'2" USHL drafted goalie from Hudson ...

One More Year, My son didn't give me any particulars of the shootout win, just that Robert stopped all shooters with Kaske being the last one. He has played with Mark and Evan in AAA and knows the moves Kaske has. It was in no way meant as a slam on Mark as we think he is a super talented forward wh...

2013 goalies

Mackjogger, Best 97 goalie is Robert and I'm not afraid to say it. He is fast, athletic, smart and hard working. Shocked he wasn't drafted as he was best in Minnesota Select 16's and plays the tougher U16/AAA schedule with 50+ games. Heard he had a solid Combine as well beating fellow Minnesotan Mar...

16 and 17 Invites

It is so sad that Kaske and Klehr didn't make it. I realize they need to spread the spots around the state and not take too many kids from certain schools but both of these boys talented and very deserving. Why not add some alternate positions? They only listed 11 forwards, could add more. Minnesota...

Wilson was cheated in the process but did you really think they were going to leave Klaers or Ahrens out of the mix? Come on! They could have stayed home in bed and moved on. They were last year's 15 choice and were moving on no matter what. This will continue to Nationals too even if Robert, Berger...

I for one will be watching the Minnesota boys in the WHL and hope they continue to do well.

Mn Hockey Fan,
No one asked Pauly to groom him, just play the best players at the right time. It isn't for him to decide who will be playing in 3 years, just this year.

Major Junior vs High School hockey association

2 cents, You have no idea what sacrifices the parents make who send their kids away to the NTDP, Shattuck, USHL, WHL, or elsewhere. They do it out of love for their child and a selflessness your will never understand. They do it to chase a dream for their child and not to tell them it isn't possible...
