congrats to all

question: If not drafted what is the realistic chance on making a team if you are invited to their main/trout camp. I would expect very remote and for the cost of camp, lodging, etc. is it really worth it? I would think this would cost 1K by the time you are done.

i dont get it- except for squirts due to the game limits if these teams want to play better teams- just schedule the games with the teams you want to play and play your district schedule

ideally I would think the High School coach should be contributing to these. He gets to see what kids are coming up and the kids will work hard to try and impress the HS coach. It would expect the successful HS programs to be involved in these type of programs.

thanks CNF- I took it as Fleming was being black balled.

If other coaches black ball OMGHA well- shame on them. They are the ones sayng the OMGHA board hurt the kids- well what are they doing by black balling a team?

i just read the posting on the OMGHA website- not sure if I agree with the boards decision to not have the coaches on the ice- BUT it sure seems like it was Fleming's choice to quit- why would anyone quit over that. I can understand not agreeing with the decision- but come on- quit? give me a break.

I bet cost is a huge factor for some families- I bet a family would say 2-3K by playing JV if you include mileage, hotels, food, etc that is all part of youth hockey and not jv.

this is one part that is totally wrong with this silly rule. We all know associations are doing this and I don't blame them. But whatever team players like this end up on they will technically have an illegal roster. As we all know people will be looking closely at this when playoffs come around. ch...

since registration has started in the metro- does anybody have any feedback on how this rule is impacting associations? How are associations verifying player information?

What association boundary is Hill in, North Saint Paul, Tartan or Stillwater. With the new residency rule one of these associations will be getting stronger.

Elliot- thanks for the response.

Shouldn't there be a uniform penalty for all districts so this infraction would be handled the same in district 1 as in district 16?

Since this is a minnesota hockey rule I would expect a standard penalty

Elliot: Any idea if Minnesota Hockey will take a hard line on illegal rosters this year. With the rule change I would expect there to be quite a few examples of illegal rosters either due to the players or the registrar not catching something. If I remember correctly a team can be excluded from play...

it would be interesting to know how the metro associations feel about this. If you know FOR SURE how your association feels on this rule chance please post the name of association and if they are for or against it.

great point on playing with kids from your school. I would bet at most at the the larger associations you might have 2-3 kids from your class.

so a child that lives in his same residence for his entire youth could actually play for 4 different associations if he started in private schools at age of 4. Very possible all 4 schools could be in a different association.

pre k- could play mites
