Early departures are always a part of this conversation, but I think Edina is going to be very, very good next year.

Walker, Phillips, Scheerer, Copeland, and Brinkman...

Their only key loss is Dornbach to graduation, otherwise, nobody of real significance was lost to graduation.

Those were the only two I could think of off hand as well; I guess I can just wait for the roster to get posted on the MSHSL site....

Poor first period for the Panthers. A few big mistakes for SLP. They got caught with three forwards deep and a pinching defenseman on the first goal. That's the kind of mistake that you absolutely can't make when you're upset-minded, and that's a reflection of coaching in my opinion. Third goal, the...

Playing for Omaha U16, and has skated a few games for Tri-City in the USHL, recently committed to Colorado College.

Most teams struggle with early departures/transfers, but Spring Lake Park could have potentially had a first line of Austen Long (CC commit), Chase Ellingson (Breck's leading scorer), and Jacob Nystrom (Senior with 28 goals). Not to mention defenseman Nick Heid who is playing in the WHL for Portland...

Congrats to Zach LaValle of Hill Muray to Miami (Ohio) University Redhawks via Janesville - NAHL. http://nahl.com/news/story.cfm?id=13924 Great pickup for Miami, it's hard to believe that it took this long for him to get picked up by a school. Best of luck to Zach. Has anyone heard if Sam Becker is...

And then I see more than one LN player in the handshake line not take their glove off or extend their hand. Edina players were just patting LN players on their arms. LN you are a joke. As far as Hill and their season it has to be considered a colossal failure, some of which needs to be placed on the coach. You lose three games all regular season and the season is a "colossal failure" because you didn't make it to state? Wow. If you haven't heard we set the bar high. And...

My take on a few things: Firstly, I don't think that Lex is getting "soft" with old age. I think that he realizes that the "cellies" after goals are becoming more popular with kids in High School these days and I would be very surprised if he didn't have a word with Mills during ...

Add Heid and Ellingson on that team......they'd probably be a top 5-10 team. The problems in SLP stem from defense, and a lot of that is coaching. Good move for Heid to leave, I hope Long is next. That team has the talent to be top 5-10 even with their current players but they lack team cohesivenes...

I am new to the program and only know I like the coach and how his team plays. The tournaments are either PHL or HPHL. One has a level playing field and the other can be lopsided. Either way there things to be learned. FN', good luck to the boys and can understand the situation. Still don't underst...

Yar, I don't really get why LaValle isn't a bigger draw. 50+ point scorer on the state runner-up team, captain, multi-sport stud, not a huge kid but bigger than many -- Right? One is forced to speculate. Is there something off-the-ice that scouts or coaches don't like about him? Is it because he pe...
