Re: Thoughts on the Best Girls Selects Tournaments

Which Girls Selects Tournament do you feel is the best for 14U and under girls? Thoughts here are: 1. MN Made Preview Cup 2. MN Selects 3. MN Super Series 3. MN Elite Classic 5. Midwest Selects Comments on each? MN Select, IMO is the best...Free to get in, honors the kids for their schoolwork...ski...

IMO opinion the A and B teams have to be overwhelmingly better than their opponents to warrant a two A team scenario. This year's Edina Squirt A's were such a case, winning every single game they played(41-0), and usually by lopsided scores. Their four B teams were also very good, winning 95% of th...

Re: 12U Girls Hockey will never be the same....

I'm all for removing checking at all levels. It has no place in a skill game like hockey. But that's not the question is it. I don't see the rule having any effect on girls hockey. Most of the girls I know thought about playing PW instead of 12U because they want to check (especially to check boys)...

What's next...taking tackeling out of youth football games? Yes. Haven't you seen the story of Dave Duerson? Interviews with Troy Aikman on down have flooded ESPN, and there has been much talk about youth football. Seriously??? As a parent of a solid 10 year old boy who LOVES football becau...

Playin with the boys

I think you might be surprised at the talent coming up over the next few years. These girls can PLAY and the depth on these teams is increasing. I do see top girls on these teams I think when you have a GOD given talent, you'll shine with the girls and/or boys. I played with the boys through squirt ...

I guess i feel somewhat vindicated for my previous comment that a zebra doesn't really ever change their stripes. i took some heat regarding this comment about #34 at the time. I was not at the game last night, but from what i am hearing, it sounds like she never really changed at all, in fact, if ...

[I think they either "GET IT" or they "DON'T", even at an early age...My son is a good example of having a great sense of the game at 10 but his skills aren't quite there yet. My daughter sees the ice very well too? Just my opinion.

I don't have anything to do with the Wayzata team, so I can't really call for a rematch nor am I the 'poor loser'. I couldn't really care who wins. Sorry if my post was misleading. Based on your high level of interest, keeping shot stats for your daughter and all, maybe you can get that rematch lin...

Re: Winning

I guess I am completely off base, it is all about winning. As long as you win everything is great. I thought you learn more from losing than winning? But I guess I am not a "nut job" obessed with winning. I am sure my daughter will grow up to be "nothing" because she was not a w...

Quit the whining about the pools and play some hockey. If you don't like the competition, play in a tournament where you get a few cupcakes! Plenty of teams are waiting to play if you decide to play elsewhere! Bighead, I think you read into Pains quote wrong...No whining just wondering why they don...

Why don't the boy's just start signing up for GIRLS hockey? Is that an option? That would be wierd! Now that girls hockey is available, I think the girls should play with the girls. Oh and lucky... Centennial 12 level only has 2 teams, a big difference from 3 or 4!

17.... It's YOU! These girls WANT to be competitive. They get better by practicing!!! In the garage, shooting pucks, at the gym getting stronger, running around or rollerblading around the lake. Too competitive? I have to laugh.

We are familiar w/ SSM. My nephew will probably go there next year. Our daughter IS lucky to play for girls hockey in MN, I agree. Boy's hockey is definately different. girls 12U/14U tier I hockey

Minnesota hockey is too liberal in my eyes. They don't let the kids have enough scrimmages and/or games during the season. In their eyes, EVERYONE IS A WINNER! Too many talented kids don't get enough good competition. My nephew moved for the hockey season with his family to ST. Louis, MO because of ...
