Re: Most likely JGB team to win state

Who do you guys think has the best chance to win state this year? Both Edina teams and both Wayzata teams look to have the best chance in my opinion. All 4 very strong teams. Let me know what ya think no chance STMA gold A is playing B Edina 1 STA 9 I don't see STMA in the JGB State bracket. :?: Bo...

what happened with Eden Prairie on Wayzata's first goal? They self-imposed a 5-on-3 power play, then gave up the goal on the side of the missing player. Confusion on the bench? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pmc3dd1vJ1I Wow, I missed that...were they missing a second player by mistake? if so, that...

I can tell you right now, that is not a team full of individuals. Cates was right there when he scored that goal, so it made the most sense. Also, that same group has stayed together all through youth hockey, I don't know if they lost one kid. Good for the ponies, if I were Cates, I'd do the same t...

5AA sites

can anyone explain why 5AA splits their QF games between two arenas(1 Olympic 1 reg) then moves both semis to the Olympic size rink, then moves the finals to Aldrich,(reg size) an arena not even in 5AA?

Re: Sorry I disagree.

I can count on very few fingers how many times officials have truly had a final impact on a game. The EP/HF game was one of those. Not to bash but it was just puzzling. The first coincidental penalty the EP shoved HF mask up over his nose and the HF didn't even react except for skating back to the ...

This is a smart commit by the U. One of the top D for his age class in the country. Great athlete with size. Great kid. Great family. I can attest to that (great kid, great family). Very humble, which can be partially attributed to the coaching he's received (not only through hockey). aren't they a...

JMHO, but feeling obliged to family/ Edina ties is hurting the U in a big way. *not saying Brinkman won't be a great player for Gophs. This is the first string of Edina kids going to the U in quite sometime, so I'm not sure what you mean. Unless you mean these kids who have committed are scaring ot...

I am surprised Benilde doesn't get more votes on this poll. They have a great program, won it in 2012, Ken Pauly seems to be here to stay and they had to cap their enrollment recently because of too many applications so the school seems to do well with enrollment which means they are unlikely to cl...

Good analysis OC63. I hate to see these things happen. I'm all about solutions. There had to have been a hundred or more players who didn't make the cut at their high school program this fall. Yet here we havve a high school that wants a team but doesn't have the bodies. I think there should be a r...

Good move by MN hockey to add this opportunity this year. Anyone know why they were play in the high school category? Isn't JR Gold the equivalent to Midgets? I see they have an 18u tier II category. Why not there? If JR Gold can play high school teams at nationals, why not here in MN? JRG 16 is eq...

Think the MSHSL will try to move Elk River, Andover and STMA out. That would leave East, Rapids, Cloquet, Forest Lake, Cambridge, St. Francis and Marshall. They could add Brainerd (maybe Bemidji?) to make 7AA eight teams. A more unlikely scenario would be to move out Elk River, STMA, and Andover an...

Elliot thx for the feedback. Thx also for all the MNH efforts over the years - we have a great overall setup here, for all the kids, and MinnHockey should get a lot of credit for that. Having said that, I'm still not sure enough top end kids will be sold on the idea of playing in this new Tier 1 fa...
