Re: covid and MH

I think what everyone is missing it the fact that, especially here, we cannot keep enough teachers in the classrooms to have school. Whether close contact from a student, or close contact from a family member, they have to quarantine for 14 days. Retired teachers that used to substitute, don't want ...

Re: covid and MH

I keep hearing the "got to do better" but honestly everywhere I go masks are worn by ALL. What else are we supposed to do? Where are you going where you're seeing people not wear masks? I'd say that from all of my travels as of late, at least 75% have been wearing masks. But that is based on the pl...

Re: MSHSL Oct 1st Meeting (Boys Hockey Season Fate)

My bad, they're suspending any interstate competition. Not shutting down the sport completely. My sincere apologies for that mistake. Still very significant though. I have heard that Maine has suspended all junior league teams' games as well. Granted, that is only three teams I believe, but still t...

Re: "Before and After"

If my kids math teacher can distance “teach” from her condo in Panama City Beach why can’t my kid distance “learn” from someplace else? The hypocrisy in this whole thing is stupid. If kids are required to be physically in school then they need to be there, if not they should be allowed to be wherev...

Re: Biggest win of the month !

It will probably require college level Calculus to determine when was the last time a 5A school beat a 6A school. Being around high school football for nearly 30 years......a viable youth football association is directly related to high school success. Getting kids involved and taught the fundament...

Thanks.
I am part of the youth football board but have little to do with with the high school success.
That goes to the coaches and the players buy-in.

Re: MSHSL Oct 1st Meeting (Boys Hockey Season Fate)

If there are limits on fans in attendance, why only a regional and no state tournament? #SMH Cost. Regional tournaments are put on by the region members, State Tournament is put on by the MSHSL. If the MSHSL has to rent out a building, no matter how big or small, can they make ends meet with only 2...

As for the fans, if I am recalling correctly, current COVID guidelines will not allow for more than 250 people in an indoor setting, and that is if social distancing guidelines can be followed.

Today's ruling is bad news in regards to having a full year and the State Tourney Football, Volleyball, Soccer, Swimming and Cross COuntry only doing a "Two Week' Sectional to conclude season.... Re: Hockey is on

With football ending Nov. 28, what’s the semi-educated guess on starting date for hockey games? Hopefully something close to the normal timeline holds? The 28th would be the final post-season FB game, there's always some overlap with FB playoffs, a couple of players may need to make some difficult ...

Re: No State Tournament at the X this Spring....

All the MSHSL needs to do is push the start date of winter sports back a few weeks and add those weeks onto the end of the winter season. Then push the start of spring sports back a couple of weeks and add those weeks onto the end of the spring season. I think a lot of the spring coaches would proba...

MSHSL moves football and volleyball to the spring season. Soccer, cross-country, swimming/diving able to proceed with a later start date and fewer competitions.
And traditional spring sports moved to a "summer" schedule, May 15-July 15.

My son is doing a youth summer camp at a city run arena this year. Right now, they have to wear a mask going into the building, inside the locker room while getting dressed, and then it can come off when they are ready to put their helmet on. Once they are off the ice, the mask goes on when they ar...

Teachers were just paid 3 months pay to basically not work. Bull****!
