Re: 3 Minnesotan’s land NAHL All Rookie First Team honors plus other league awards

Hopefully the BSU commits transition well to the college game: Brad Belise, Aberdeen Wings, Central Division Team and Central Division Player of the Year, All NAHL First Team Aaron Myers (Thief River Falls), Minnesota Wilderness, Central Division Team and Central Division Rookie of the Year Samuel S...

Re: Study: Average age that Division I players commit is over 18

Not sure where to throw this, so I will throw it in this thread. The NCAA has come out with new recruiting rules/guidelines today: https://www.collegehockeynews.com/news/2019/04/19_NCAA-Approves-Sweeping-Changes.php "The most significant change regards verbal commitments, which now will not be allow...

Re: State of Hockey's Team

Honestly I think it is dumb that you have to play multiple years of juniors to play D3 hockey. NCAA D3 should make a freshman age limit of 19. Then what do you have left for that 19 year old junior player that is border line D-I caliber? He plays another year of junior, gets better and lands a spot...

Re: State of Hockey's Team

It is going to take someone pretty special to go straight from high school to college any more. Heck, even D-III schools want players to have junior experience under their belts. And who can blame them when the rules allow it. Why would you want an 18 or 19 year old freshman when you can have 20 or ...

Re: AA school fielding an additional A team

No, it would be possible, but not "fair" (lack of a better term). Part of the reason there is AA and A is due to the number of kids a school has to pick from to put a team together. If you start allowing AA schools to field both AA and A teams, what is to say they don't stack their A team to make a ...

Re: Class A 2019-2020

Alexandria's Bantams are in the Bantam A State Tournament this weekend, so there should be some skill moving up next year. And you are correct, the numbers in Alexandria are strong for the next 10+ years, I would say. My son is a Sept 2010 and his age has 27 kids out for hockey. The next age group ...

Re: Class A QF: #5 Delano vs. #4 Greenway

Quick question, and maybe I missed it on TV last night, but was their a story to the purple that Delano was wearing? Almost all the players had purple skate laces and the fans were dressed in purple. I figured there must be something behind it. Thanks! EDIT: Found It "Tragedy struck Delano last week...

Did you get in? We got there at five minutes to six and the lobby was packed. We bugged out early, I can't imagine what the parking lot was like after the game. They need more parking and better flow.
