Well, weather is hitting earlier this year, I guess.
11/25/25: St. Michael-Albertville at Alexandria is postponed, no word on a new date.

Re: 2025-26 Early Departure Watch List
And then ends up in District 6 for spring/summer HP. Yeah, if he did that makes sense because those go by residence. I've seen several goalies playing out of state at the 54 event so they must have access based on where they live. This tracks how other Districts run their Player Development program...

Re: 2025-26 Early Departure Watch List
Why was Suter up in Moorhead anyways? After Dallas, the fam said f it and didn't go to STL and instead settled on a one year lease in Moorhead?? He lived with Matt Cullen and played for the Spuds Bantam team that won state. It is very hard for kids to participate in high-level youth hockey while th...

Well, they did get a Bantam AA State Title out of the deal, so there is that. It is a free for all right now. He played in Moorhead last year for Bantams ...

Re: 2025-26 Early Departure Watch List
Brooks Suter returning to Edina, according to X. Also reading that Cullen would be eligible to go back to Honeybaked after the HS season for the Michigan District playoffs and possible Nationals (have Fox Motors and Little Caesars in there). All Honeybaked has to do is have him taking up a roster sp...

Seeing reports on X that Joey Cullen is coming back to Moorhead for the HS season. Kind of interesting since his dad is a coach with Honeybaked, if true.

Re: 218 Sports Showcase in Bemidji
That's a very cool idea. I like the double header aspect to it. I could also see have a high school double header in one earlier session, and the college game as a night cap. There are a lot of teams that would fit in with this format. Spud, GR, TRF, Warroad, and throw in a metro squad or two. Eith...

218 Sports Showcase in Bemidji
I love this idea! 218 Sports out of Bemidji is partnering with Bemidji State, local high schools and the Sanford Center to have Sports Showcase Weekends at the Sanford Center. One Day and Full Event passes can be purchased that will get you into all games for that day or weekend. On January 9-10, t...

I just read today (can't find the link) that the WHL is starting to offer kids from Minnesota the ability to do the "before and after" like the USHL and NAHL.

Re: HS Elite League Rosters
Wow, the rift between the CHL and NCAA is heating up. The CHL is discontinuing scout passes for NCAA scouts. They will still be able to attend games, but will have to pay for a ticket. I guess they are upset at some of the "poaching" that some NCAA schools have done, but nothing different...

Re: HS Elite League Rosters
Can someone explain to me/us how anyone that signed a pro contract (ECHL or AHL) can now go back and play college hockey? How is this even possible... Does this mean that anyone who's playing/played pro hockey and has college eligibility left can go back to their college and play? If this is true I...

It's just a matter of time before kids playing pro hockey (in the ECHL or AHL) are allowed to go back and play college hockey Whelp, sounds like that time may have arrived. Quoted from the USCHO.com message board, talking about CHL and Canadian U-sports recruits. "ok so some wild things going ...

Flynn Sandburg would have competed for the starting goalie job at Centennial is leaving to play AAA in Michigan. Heard it’s either HoneyBaked or Little Caesar’s. I don't get the appeal of heading over to those T1 teams. There seems to be several more MN kids that will be heading out to MI, I think ...

With every parent that is shopping their kid around, they probably have a lawyer or two in their back pocket. As soon as MnHockey or the MSHSL says no, they will have a lawsuit filed against them. It is just easier and more cost effective to just let it happen.
