Benson from EP will be top 5 on all hair team
Some teams recruit players that can play hockey. Eden Prairie is so good they can recruit a kid for the All Hair team.

Isn't Benson from Waconia?

CM = Mr Hockey. End of discussion. No one has his talent, and when you come back as a senior - that impresses the old school coaches and scouts. As far as points being lower, consider that he has spent a month playing with 2 sophomores, in order to strengthen and deepen the EP lineup. On the HUB whe...

Eden Prairie vs Wayzata!

I ignore "teams" and go for the best player to watch. In this case, it would be Mittelstadt. Assuming he is motivated to avenge that title game loss.

Could be highly entertaining. Please report back.

My two cents: If you look at the players "ceiling", then Matt Anderson is the best D man on the list. But you would not say that if you look only at the numbers this year. The rest of the players all bring something different, and the next best D would be a great debate. Personally, I've a...

Write in candidates are happily accepted. Maybe I should have put Other as an option You could have thought about Centennial as a choice, over Minnetonka. They are at least even money to win that 1st round game I would think. But you do the poll the way you want. Personally, I would have listed EP ...

I had to make it down early to see the first night of this "tournament" and it did NOT disappoint. In the first game, I really wanted to see how the Elks would do versus an Eagle team that seems motivated, like this season is all about X (or bust). Perbix on D was outstanding. CM was his b...

How about that Edina Holiday Classic in a month?
#1, #4, #5, #9 teams in your preseason ranking, playing over 3 nights at Braemar!!

Is it just individual games sales? Or does Braemar sell a pass?
It would be fantastic hockey.

Could Edina finish last? Has it ever happened?

Good stuff as always Karl. I like the 5AA prediction, I expect Centennial and MG to rise to the top this year. Maybe 1 of them can break the State Tourney jinx. It will be interesting to see BSM in an underdog role. How long has it been since they've really seen a talent gap as large as it is now in...

This is a great topic. The junior route and its pitfalls and benefits. Everyone is in a hurry to get to that next level. The earlier verbal commitments are proof of that. But from where I stand, the leverage is almost completely with the D1 school. If a kid doesn't want to go that 2nd year, he has o...

So many great points made on the these predictions! Maple Grove is probably a year away from starting a really nice run. As is Tonka. Those 2 programs are on solid ground thanks to a deep feeder system. I think Elk River is the dark horse for the title. This is a team that regularly beat CM and the ...

My take, 1 EP, 3 lines deep, very strong D core 2 GR, stars win games 3 Still, a lot returning, cohesive roster 4 ER, high level talent and a tender 5 Tonka, reloading with high end talent 6 HF, Anderson & Moe, but I'm not sold on the rest 7 WAY, should be higher right? 8 LVS, like Nick Saban-yo...

Tut. Did you see the EP GR game? EP's downfall was not goaltending. EP had a bunch of kids missing due to other camps and Elite Legaue tryouts. GR Had all their big guns. EP Was very very undisciplined. I bet they did not skate with five guys on the ice for more than 6 minutes the entire scrimmage....

The High Performance discussion every year is amusing. It would be better if they just were open about the process, ie: disclosing the names of the evaluators/coaches involved with the grading. Not that I think deep down that would make a difference. But you have the surprise players that move along...

U-17's were a joke in some sections. No big surprises really in 6AA/A, things pretty fell to how you'd expect. My family have no complaints, seemed about right. But a friend of mine from 2AA/A, said an email was leaked out with player rankings, prior to going into the first tryout. OOOPS. Now that i...

I'm not sure edina beating EP is a huge upset, especially cause they did it twice this year. But that's not a bad plan, the ponies coach should call curt. For as good as mittlestedt is he is only 1-6 against the hornets. Green, good point. But I was meaning that Bantam QF game 2 years ago though. S...

Stillwater baby. Look back a couple years--wasn't the Bantam AA title game between the Ponies and Grand Rapids? Grand Rapids won. So what do they want? The title game they got? (Grand Rapids). Or the title game they deserved, vs EP? (EP lost to Edina in a huge upset-talk to the Hornets about that on...

EP 4 GR 3 In a classic. I would love to reverse it. However, I also predict on those 4 goals, #11 with 2G, 2A. How do you stop him? Apparently no one in high school can. Maybe the next level? Sinbin, Cinderella dark horse would be Farmington . 2 or 3 elite skaters/scorers. 2 of top D in state. Very talented and hot goalie. I cast a sentimental vote for Burnsville being the Cinderella. Going to High School in the 80's, when you beat Burnsville in any sport, you did something right that d...
