Re: Bantam A preseason rankings for next year

Based on what I've heard, Chaska is likely to lose several key players by next year and will not finish that high. They didn't get pass District 6 playoffs this year and would be lucky to be in the top 10 next year unless all of the players return.

Re: other Burnsville

I know that there were 5 skaters asked to tryout from B'ville, Hendrickson, Gislason, Mosey, Smyth and Kennedy and I don't think any of them made it. I'm pretty sure they were all first year players and Schlink the goalie was a second year.

Re: d6 team

I heard one of the goalies is Aaron Schlink from Burnsville. He is really good. I think he plays for the 91 Lightning in AAA and I know he is a 2nd year. Didn't hear about any other goalies yet.

Re: re: select 14's

Sorry, my bad Elliot. Just goes to show that sometimes what you hear in the rumor mills is not necessarily true. I did know that USA hockey had a select 14 and Minnesota Hockey did not so I assumed the info was true...thanks for correcting it.

re: select 14's

I heard it was some guy in Bloomington. Probably wanted to have his kid play so he organized it. Anyway, it is supported by USA hockey but not Minnesota Hockey. I heard he was asking 100 players (don't know what the criteria is) and than he would narrow it down and bring a team to the National tourn...

Elliot,

Couldn't agree more that a bad bi-product of FP points is that you now can have improper seeding of teams in playoffs which may punish teams unfairly and could affect whether a team advances. I'm not a big fan of fair play points but they were MUCH better last year when they didn't charge the checking from behind a full 12 minutes.

I think that a better solution would be to leave all penalties at 2 minutes (as far as HEP points) and KICK a player out of a game for checking from b...

Re: who's hot

I would say Jefferson is HOT just not as hot as they can be... any team that advances out of D6 is doing pretty well. EP is HOT and may be peaking at the right time having beaten Edina, Jefferson and Burnsville in District playoffs. Look for them to do some damage in Regions.

Re: Opinions and Ideas

I would love for my kid to play in a State tournament it's a long shot. That's OKAY though because what's really important is developing (and having fun) and I think he is developing because of excellent coaching, good practice drills and hard work. We have to play powerhouse teams like Edina and EP...

Re: playoffs

Eden Prairie beat Jefferson 3-1. A lot of penalties 18 or 19 which helped EP (Jefferson had twice as many)...some questionable calls and the Jefferson coach got kicked out for swearing at refs (it was 2-1 in the 3rd when they kicked him and EP scored on the bench penalty to go up 3-1).

Jeffer...

Re: Playoff Overtimes

In D6, you are right about the 5 on 5, than 4 on 4 and than 3 on 3 (each period being 5 minutes in length)...but you are wrong about the so on and so forth. After the end of the 3rd overtime, the WIN goes to the higher seed (no more hockey is played).

I think the format is fine but I would ha...

Chaska had at least twice as many shots and the Burnsville goalie did play great. Burnsville shut down #17 for Chaska and they were getting pretty frustrated...Chaska is a good team but Burnsville just kept them off their game.

Re: playoff results

EP wins game over Jefferson 3 - 2. Jefferson scored one late in the 3rd when they pulled their goalie but ran out of time to make the comeback. It's Edina vs. EP in the winners bracket (Thursday night) with Jefferson vs. Minnetonka and Chaska vs. Burnsville in the losers bracket (both these games ar...

Re: monday results

EP ended up winning 6-1...Burnsville made too many mistakes and just didn't recover from them. Giving up 2 goals when EP was shorthanded just sucked the life out of Burnsville. You can't make those kind of mistakes against good teams...I think EP will lose to Jefferson and Chaska will lose to Edina ...

Re: elite classic, selects, super series

First, those end of the year tournaments are meant to gather several good quality players from different areas and have some fun playing a N,S,E,W tournament...it is not necessarily the best players (they may be busy or out of town etc.) but it does include a lot of very good players. Most coaches w...
