Stillwater's offense is pretty piss poor. They have had problems putting up goals all season. I see them scoring no more than a goal or two, but with a goalie like Blake Cates i think anything can happen.

Hill takes it 3-2 in OT

Watch out for Stillwater and Forest Lake topping White Bear this year. Stillwater lost two great defensemen but still have a strong defensive core and a goalie that can steal a game for the Ponies. Forest Lakes top line is pretty impressive and can throw up a lot of points.

I'd take Schletty over anyone else in the SEC...but that's just me.
Not a chance. Cates IS the best goalie in the SEC

We've also learned that playing in the WHL will make him ineligible for college hockey. Interesting decision to say the least. I've never really understood why some players decide to go to the WHL... Cody wasn't doing so hot in school is the rumor. WHL is a very good league, he is a big boy and can...

I can see them being above .500. They're in a pretty weak conference this year. Watch for Stillwater and White Bear to be pulling for the conference championship

With all these defections, section 4 looks to be a wide open race. Who knows, maybe it will be Moundsview's year! I would still give Hill a big advantage to get to St. Paul in March, maybe Stillwater can give them a scare though. Pulling for WBL all the way! I'm a little uneasy about Stillwater thi...

Stillwaters defense was hands down the best in the conference. Must be a weak conference if the team with the best defense gives up 60 shots to a team that didn't even make the State Tournament! Oh yah that one team that didn't make the state tournament...That's the same team that beat Hill, AHA, T...

Shaughnessy had a decent year behind a great team. He is a "pretty good" goalie. Should he have won this? Hell no. But he had no say in the decision (as far as we know). As for Hill being a prestigious academic school? its below average for a private school in minnesota and kids go there t...

This one comes up to Schletty in the nets. I have seen some pretty awesome games and some sub par games. If he has a "good" game I can see the Bears winning. When that first line has their heads in the game they are pretty tough on any goaltender.

Bears win 4-2. Wahlin puts in two

Really? I didn't think WB played as good a game as I expected them to, or as tight a game as I've seen them this season. Regardless, they deserved to win as Stillwater couldn't control the puck. Most winning teams can sustain possession with a few passes tied together and Stillwater didn't complete...

Not sure this game has any relevance to the state tournament (unless Roseville wins), but should be entertaining anyways. Seems to me the community and the coaches have already convinced themselves and these kids that they can't compete with HM. Sorry but that was a dumb comment. Both coaches love ...

If Stillwaters offense plays like it did against Tartan they will beat White Bear. Very impressed, does it convince me that their offense is revived? No, but it is bouncing back. Perfect timing. As for Hill and Roseville? Let's get real Peter Pan, Hill wins 5-1.

Stillwater gets Corbett back this week. This should boost the offense. If it doesn't I don't see Stillwater moving to the finals or maybe even the semi's. If they score big the first game I can see this squad upsetting the bears and maybe even the Pioneers. As much as I hate to say it, I do believe ...

I don't know about you guys but I don't want to see private schools in games like this. I want to see old time hockey. Teams like Edina and Roseau going at it. It's not the weather, it's the teams that compete in it.

I can see Stillwater edging out White Bear in the semis. Stillwater has a lot to prove in the section final game as well as the final game. The seniors played with Bahe and Timmy all through bantams. It would mean alot to get the first state birth for the Ponies. I do think HM is the better team but...

They said HM was a shoe in 09 and we saw what Stillwater did. If Stillwater goaltending is on I can see them making it. I can also see CDH coming up big in sections and competing for the state title. When both teams want to play they are high caliber teams.

I am still not seeing why this is such a big deal. Pride maybe? But I do not seeing this matter when it comes to section time. Stillwater and White Bear will get #2 and #3 seeds and they will see eachother in the semis. The winner will go on to beat Hill in the final

And HM and STA would still clean house in the SEC. 8) You have to keep in mind that every other game is a joke for Hill and STA. If they played in the SEC they would not have a night off. They would be much more fatigued and injured. The SEC is a very physical conference. I do not disagree wi...
