Private schools are here to stay. They are great schools, and most of the kids enrolled are there because their parents went there. When you denigrate the school just to do so, your jealousy comes through. Don't trash the school or the kids because coach/admins decide not to challenge themselves to ...

lazy.... No, this forum isn't anywhere near as strict as The Guillotine. For those unfamiliar; even when newspapers and the school board of Kasson Mantorville publically acknowledged a MSHSL recruiting violation this past spring that message board shut down any conversation or links to the story. Why so teams with the guts to play AA like BSM and Roseau get to sit home while STA get to trophy hunt? STA, Warroad, and the like have a chance to win the AA title already, they choose A hockey instead. They don't deserve a chance to play the AA champion any more than UMD deseved a shot at Auburn....

I want to say that it was Moorhead. They ended up losing to AHA in the final that year.
WBL beat Moorhead 2-0.

The prior year, Centennial won both the Schwans and State. Its possible.

You are correct Zamman. You could have used 2004 as an example also.

I'm talking about squirts, peewees, bantams, etc. I just don't like forming all-star teams. Even if they're formed in publics. I think it's wrong to leave your school and friends. Don't be a sellout. That all sounds great except if your Dad and his Dad and his Dad went to Cretin or St. Thomas. Litt...

Puck - You don't enroll at a private school, you apply. At most, many are rejected. Some private schools allow enrollment and some you must apply. It all comes down to the $$. We're both correct here. 8) Lets keep it relative to the conversation. At any private school good at hockey, you must apply...

Not the same. Public has to except all. Private can recruit and choose.
Not true. They do not have to accept any from outside their district. Many do not.
Name one.

No, really. Name ONE.

With open enrollment so can the publics! Not the same. Public has to except all. Private can recruit and choose. Anyone can join a private school as well; you just need to fork over the money/be on financial aid. 8) Puck - You don't enroll at a private school, you apply. At most, many are rejected....

That logic? No, no, no.

I was merely pointing out that you were trying to rationalize why Champlin should upset Centennial, because Maple Grove's path would be easier against Champlin.

You pick from a pool of applicants. In many cases it is taking all who apply. You make it seem like they can just hand pick who comes. People can be denied, but you don't "pick who enrolls at your school." St. Thomas is a great school, I think most everyone agrees with that. If you're a g...

The fact is getting through your A section is far easier than getting through an AA section. 7 of the 8 AA sections have their top 4 teams ranked in the top 41 in the state while no A section has more than 2. If you put all the A teams in their corresponding AA sections only 5 teams would get home ...

The biggest problem with the Tier system was you were rewarded for being 9th. They seeded every team in the section, #1 through #16 or however many teams you had just like they always did, then the top 8 were Tier 1, the rest Tier 2. A few tweaks in the system and it would have worked better. The b...
